I am British and travelled to Pakistan in July 2016. A group of 14 keen British enthusiasts, wanting to see this heavily beauty of Pakistan and we sure did. In our 8 day trip, we managed two base camps, Nangaparbat and Rakaposhi. I have never witnessed a more beautiful place on earth. The only downside of our trip was the short duration of the trip. Travelling time killed us and we packed too much in this short trip. We needed at least 14 days for a perfect trip. Would love to see this region again. Would love to see the Pakistani government take more interest in cleaning up the route via Naran and Kagan. These towns were once magnets of wonderful simple beauty and now they are full of tents and open plan hotels.

I am from Haripur, KPK province the gateway to Northern Pakistan. Being a Geologist I have paid a visit to Gilgit Baltistan for field work. It was life time memorable experience traveling along Karakoram highway. This is 2nd highest mountain in the world, and Roof of the Earth (Deosai Plateau) is not too far from here. this is the region where you will find largest glaciers outside south pole, lush green valleys and blue rivers. people are soooo hospitable and civilized. crime rate is zero in this part of the world.
