The Karakorum is the most stunning mountain landscape in the world, and I've visited most of them. I've done several mountaineering expeditions there back in the 80's, and my god, Skardu looka exactly the same as back then. We had to start walking from Dassu though - 2 days just to get to Askole (and, looking at that road, will still prefer to walk).

You need to take a 4 hour jeep ride from Skardu and then hikes about 6 days to get to base camp. It's not to difficult if your physically fit although you have to camp every night which is rough! @@aiyshah_shahidchannel

Hi David - Many thanks for this amazing and beautiful film. Without question the best K2 BC video currently available on KZbin. I'm off to do the trek itself on the 23rd of June, so I've watched ‘a few’ and yours is by far the best - the rest don't even come close. It's also been a pretty valuable resource for knowing what to expect; terrane, people's clothing choices etc. Stunningly shot, and not without significant efforts at those altitudes I'd be guessing. Great work, keep it up and thanks again 😉👍

Amazing, so glad to hear you found it useful and thanks for your kind words. You'll have a brilliant time, the views are unmatched! My tips would be take a warm sleeping bag, it gets cold at night. I'd also suggest bringing an extra sleeping mat, some of the camp sites are rather rocky! Have a wonderful trip.

What a beautiful and well documented video. The views of the mountain ranges brought tears to my eyes. Our earth is so stunning and gorgeous. How many hours a day did you walk? And what is the difficulty level of this trek? I plan on visiting next year since UAE/PAK announced an easy e-visa for UAE residents.

thank you for your kind words. Its about 6-8 hours of hiking per day. It's not too difficult, reasonably fit people can do it. 4 retired couples were hiking in some groups.
