I’ve been looking into either KTM or Aprilia as my new bike for 23 but the more I follow KZbinrs and read the forums I’m not so sure anymore. I’m grateful that you guys post the highs and lows of the ownership experience but I need reliability as I use my bikes for commuting. Given your experience owning the RSV4 would you still recommend it or a Tuono?

Get the new 2023 Street Triple and thank me later. Buy Aprilia only if you have a second bike and lots of patience waiting for service (if and when it’s ever needed)

@JayRock S1K = Girl next door.. your mom loves her but she knows you can find a prettier girl but this is the kind of girl you can marry and she won't cheat on you. She's pretty boring though and she could learn to dress better / sexier. RSV4 = The stripper with a boob job.. She is a pain in the ass and you know it but damn, she's sexy as hell. Its hard letting her go but you know she's not marriage material.. One day she is gonna run away with your kids and your money but for the time being... it's fun! That's the best answer I can give you. have fun deciding haha!

@@PetroHead Funny you say that. I bought a 2021 Street Triple a couple of years back after watching your vids and asking your opinion on that. Looking for something with a bit more get up and go and I commute over Ortega highway. The road is crap now so hoping electronic suspensions can help me tune that out.

You have an electrical problem somewhere if it’s blowing fuses, if another one goes I would find the problem before riding it again. Might be something as simple as removing the lights in the mirrors and a ground is being weird I dunno.

Sorry to hear your about troubles with your Rsv4s. I have my 2018 for 5 years and and 17,200 miles as of today. I have had 0 issues with OFT tablet and graves exhaust on the bike. I just checked the vavles and they are still in spec. Out of all my friends with bikes near the same age and mileage have had issues, 19 zx10r blow motor, 18 gsxr 1000 cuts out runs rougher older it gets. Oddly my Aprilia and we always joke about it’s the most reliable bike. Also I’m still on the same batt that came with the bike since new.
@PetroHead

My opinion is that these new EU5 bikes are being pushed to the limit (power, electronics, emissions, etc) and it's somehow breaking things in the process and the engineering is not all that best. The older generations experience less issues. if Italians make a bike, they will make it exciting and fun. If germans make a bike, they will make it fast & reliable but boring unless you dump a bunch of money into it (S1K). And the Japanese develop fast, fun and reliable bikes but quality and "luxury" is not there. In the perfect world, the Italians would dress up the bike, the Japanese would make parts for it and the Germans would be in charge of engineering, aesthetics and quality. But when you give Italians the job of design, parts and engineering, you get a recipe for disaster.
@Porschemovies

@@PetroHead You have no experience with S1k because if you did you would not say it's boring or reliable. I have 22 S1k as s stable mate to My RSV4. In every conceivable performance metric, the S1k outperforms the RSV4 if both bikes are tuned and pipped up. I love my RSV4 it's an occasion to ride, the Sound, vibration, and even shifting it's epic, But S1K performance is just significantly better. Also, no person with experience can ever call a 200+ whp Bike that weighs 334lb wet boring.

Italy is a centrifugal point of motorcycling , ducati , aprilia , Sc Project , Arrow , Termingoni , GPR Exhaust , Brembo , Diasciatti , Accossato , Spark Exhausts , Sprint Air Filters & many others , Countries all over the world contact this nation in preparation for race season - its mad busy for motorcycling this is why everything takes time from essentially a tiny nation

@PetrolHead man I have a lot of questions for you, but I’ll try to keep it short. I have been seriously considering the 22 Aprilia RSV4 or the 19 1100 factory, the sound of the Aprilia with a SC exhaust in my opinion is unmatched, it’s insane. Also for the linear torque it has. Knowing what you know now, would you have still pulled the trigger on the RSV4? You stated you have a good bit of carbon to add, is finding aftermarket parts an issue? Is the starter a recall item, or is there any recalls on that model that you know of? In all my research all I’ve been coming across is nothing but praises for the newer Aprilia’s in the reliability department in comparison to older Aprilia and Ducati models. Lastly when you purchased it it was brand new correct, only asking because I was looking specifically for a used one. Not gonna lie, for my weight if I did go the Triumph route it would be the 1200 RS lol but seen your response you wrote to another guy regarding the BMW being like the girl next door and the Aprilia like a stripper, that was classic.
@PetroHead
@PetroHead Жыл бұрын
Aftermarket parts = Plenty. Check out the description of my RSV4 videos. Recalls: Aprilia won't do recalls because it will tarnish the brand and would be costly. I bought it brand new off the showroom floor - TWICE! My suggestion is buy a preowned only and buy it from a forum member with a good history of ownership (well known individual in the community). This way, if they experienced problems early on, they fixed it and you won't have to go through the trouble yourself. The bike already had its gremlins resolved and now you can enjoy it. I would not recommend buying brand new unless you have the time and patience to go back and fourth with dealers who don't give a F about you but just their bottom line ($$$) I'm just being 100% upfront and honest.

Buy 21+ pre owned from a well known person in the community.. preferably with several thousand miles (higher mileage is good in this scenario because if anything happened, it would happen in first 3-5k miles)

What were the symptoms of the starter? I have a 2018 RSV4 RF with only 1400 miles. My issue is that after I ride for 30 minutes or so and then stop, the battery acts like is extremely low and won’t turn over. If I let it sit for another 30 minutes, it will turn over with no problems. Thanks

I feel exactly the same way with my 2022 RSV4 I am worried it's gonna die way out in the boonies where is my favorite place to ride. I already had a urgent service warning because it chews up oil and it was low... and then after mine shut off as well because of a blown B fuse. Like what's next? I never had an issue with my CBR600RR and I hit 21k on it before I sold it
