@@claudiovillani5538 Ha! Well said! I couldn't buy a Lamborghini either....I'm too poor and they're too ugly! (the Muira and a couple other 60's/70's models being the exception.) The Ferrari's, Alfa's and Lancia's are more interesting for their aesthetic appeal and more importantly, their race history.

I'm 72. After my years in British sport cars and about 5 BMW's, I bought my first Alfa over 20 years ago. Overall very reliable. My for last 156 1.8TS, in 10 years time, cost me about € 3500,-- maintenance. Not one had rust. The only weak point I found, electronics. I admire your work. As you are familiar with Europe, not many here are interested in a Corvette. as you probably know! Keep going Sir! Ps, there is one car I would prefer to end with, even more than a AR, a Triumph Italia. As I could do everything on it my self, as it's based on a TR3, my first car.

I have a modern Alfa, the 4C, it’s not a perfect car to drive compared to my 6 speed Cayman S but every time I drive it in the back roads, it just takes my breath away. The feeling of driving it is not linear and comforting, just bombards you with senses even if it’s a dual clutch, both hands must be on the steering wheel because it’s very nervous but lots of grip. Backroad driving makes me sweat, body and hands. It’s terrifying to drive but at the same time satisfying. Period!

My first car, back in 1967, was a 101 Series Sprint 1600 Normale. I learned bodywork as a result, it rusted. I've had many Alfas since then, none in 25 years or so though. At 74 I just don't have the energy for cars that demand lots of attention, so now my daily driver, my only car, is a 2016 Mazda MX-5/Miata. Summer and New Hampshire Winter, it is the car I drive.

Agree with the philosophy of using them, rather than static beauty queens. And yes, Alfa were the mother lode of brilliant engineer entrepreneurs: Wilfred Ricard went on to make Pegaso, Ferrari hired Jano, and i think also Colombo out of Alfa, Carlo Chiti...and when Ferrari first won against Alfa he said “ ho ucciso mia madre”....May the force be with you.
