Awesome. And not in the cheapened, colloquial sense. Cool beyond anything built today. I’d take one of these restored cars over a modern Porsche (even if the new ones are still great cars) any day of the week. Keep up the magnificent work, you’re an inspiration.

All of this is so worth it, wonderful and admirable- from the original designers and engineers who created the cars, to the uncompromising restorers. I’m in awe and have great respect for all of them. And for our Western culture that made it all possible. And also for this channel that finds and brings these great stories to us.

@@GTE_Channel I, respectfully, disagree! It's 50 years of racing, research and development... Someone has to pay for that. Not to mention 70% of their cars are still on the road. I have an 80's car, an 07 and a 15' and they all are over built.

In house Dyno, down draft paint booth, dry storage for finished vehicles ..... I betcha this fella has an in house upholstery, keeps some spares on storage, and runs a machine shop upstairs along with the engine department. There used to be a shop on Ashland, MA USA that had that kind of coverage, fully dedicated to Mercedes Benz. I can’t remember the name, it was right along route 20. I was impressed upon visiting it. I think they started as a two bay car garage on Hudson, MA. Eventually they expanded. My nod to the editing folks at petrolicious. They got it. Keep on churning.

Factory Porsche part prices fluctuate weekly. It's 150K+ in the US to do a complete restoration on a air cooled Pcar, Labor rates are $110 and up. Porsche is probably using the Ferrari Classic game plan. Just type in Porsche Classic, press search and select your country. The bespoke companies that can do it inhouse are the only way to go...unless you can do it yourself. (Pelican)
@SF_Native3 жыл бұрын
Ok, i really loved this video. Excellent editing, however the audio mix down. Yikes. Voiceovers were too low and music was in the red. I found myself either turning it down or turning it up. Regardless, I enjoyed the video. How much do these restorations cost if takes a full year?

Older Porsches are not my cup of tea. Having to rebuild them from scratch is uneconomical and all things being equal, I'd rather spend the money on new and enjoy the modern amenities. Having said that, I enjoy seeing them on the road and acknowledge the small fortune it took to make that possible.
