When I buy a 356, you will build it for me. I worked for a Gentlemen by the name of Rick Norris, and wonderful Wife Penny Norris. They owned RPS Automotive witch started out in Los Angeles,CA on La Brea. He then moved to the West LA area. He owned a black on black 911. One of the most beautiful Porsche you can lay your eyes on. I truly wish I would know whom owns it now so I could buy it and keep it. The cars name was “Mad Rick”. To me Rick was one of the most amazing Porsche mechanics I could have ever met. He took me on his wing and thought me what building a car was all about. At 19-20 years old kid,I tell you I will forever thank Rick for being a mentor and such a huge big Brother. I wish he would still have his shop. He would still be building some of the most amazing Porches to date. You truly remind me of him. Keep up that amp passion for Porsche’s.

Big fan of Rod Emory, he makes some beautiful cars... strangely aesthetically this is my least favourite of all his builds, but this needed to be made nevertheless. I prefer the more classic builds. Great story and film as always!
@maneki9neko5 жыл бұрын
Yes. He does lovely work. This car was at Luftgekuhlt this year (2019) and I found it kind of interesting. It really is a departure from the work he has done to this point in time. To get 400 horse power of an air cooled flat four is a challenging problem from the standpoint of heat-removal. Rod has completely revamped those engines. Moving along to disk brakes was kind of inevitable. And the Momo wheels of course. I wonder if Rod has considered building his own monocoque chassis, out of carbon fiber and aluminum. It would be a logical kind of extension for him.
@74surfboards5 жыл бұрын
I agree, this is my least favorite Emory build of all his builds. I love the retro, cafe racer, "outlaw" style that Rod Emory popularized on the 356's, but this one definitely does not do it for me. The 1970's 935 styling works on all the 911 variants but in my opinion doesn't "back date" well to the 356's.

@@natef4240 Sure, Rod wanted it to look like an early RSR and/or the 935. It's a Frankenstein and he did a great job welding all the pieces together into a performance car. Still, if you love the 356 there's not much room for a 917 or 959's sleekness and to me the rather raw look of the rear end comes from cartoon-like fantasy. In a car like this: it's a necessity.
