Getting home sick watching Brit car vids....amazing scenery. Cars and castles makes a nice change from cars and coffee.

What a great way to spend a day. These types of car shows, drive outs, park up in the shadow of an historic building are my favourite. The Lotus 11, wow, what a beautiful example & a superb owner. Had to laugh at a T,S,W & W Peter, never heard that one before. I remember vaguely visiting Corfe as a youngster, there used to be a pasty shop down in the village where my parents would go & stock up for the journey home if my memory serves me. Those bangs & bumps sound like my JCW Coupe every time I hit a pot hole, I think it’s getting close to changing out the R/F’s for some of those Michelin’s. Excellent video, thanks for sharing. Cheers Geof

Nice E-Type Jag @ 16.50 like the colour of it too!I'm 60 now and as a teenager of about 16 i remember my Dads mate in (Torquay then) a machanic Garage owner had an E-type jag he was cleaning the plugs and there were 12 of the things in that long nosed car i at the time was helping clean some of his stock as a weekend pocket money job,well at the end of the day my dads mate gave me a lift home down Saint Marychurch Rd hill towards Barton well i sh-t myself but loved it i never thought the car could stop at the give way line and since that day i have a special memory of the 12 pot E-type Jag.

Nice one Pete..being born and bred in Weymouth, nice to see the area again and on such a stunning day. My first car was a Morris Minor, bought from my father - the drivers seat was only fixed on one side, so every time she went round a tight left hand corner, felt like she was going up on two wheels lol

It was obviously going to be a brilliant day. You met ME!!!! :-)) What was funny was when you mentioned the Lotus to me, I thought you said it was a Lotus ONE!? It's an age thing you see. Not hearing what people say. Selective hearing at it's best. It normally works with the missus (Shh... Don't tell her please!), but I forget to turn it off sometimes when it's nothing to do about shopping, knitting and general women stuff!! I digress. I'd never heard of a Lotus One, so I went and had a look. It looked like an Eleven to me. No less a baby D-Type? And for you in the Lotus Pete. Or should that be Group Captain Petrolped? :-) I'm just glad you could fit in it. The car looked stunning even though it was a copy! And Neil left you hanging too (@11:06) after the crater!! How shocking? A great video. Great day out. And great to see you too. Oh! You owe me a coffee by the way. Though I'd prefer a cuppa char! Catch you anon bud.

Hopefully I can upgrade that coffee to a beer one day ;-)

Nice car and fun video. Are you aware it is not actually a 1956 Lotus 11 as stated, but a 2008 Westfield X1 reproduction kit of the original Lotus?
@PetrolPed6 жыл бұрын
Shhh...yes I am but that can be our little secret ;-)

Looked like a great event, and as usual you captured it superbly yet again, congratulations. Sight of the “Eleven” took me back many years when I bought a Lotus 7 Big Valve twin cam at the racing car show, weeks later the Caterham deal was announced, possibly the last made under Lotus name.wish I had kept it, but how many cars do you wish you had kept?

Wow, that would have been worth a small fortune now :-(

7:29 Is that hazard switch on the dashboard original (looks not)? So I am wondering if this is one of the few originals, or a Westfield replica. The 11 could have any of several different engines, although I believe the 1100 cc Coventry Climax was the most common. Which in this? Certainly a beautiful car and to think it did so well in races (like Le Mans) with such small engines. Quite remarkable.
@PetrolPed6 жыл бұрын
Shhh...don't tell anyone but well spotted. This is a very good Westfield replica ;-)
@dj_paultuk70526 жыл бұрын
I think my Renault Alpine GTA V6 Turbo was lower than that. I could not do speed bumps at all. And it scraped just getting into our drive.

1275 with single Weber. A very easy car to maintain and drive - assuming no speed bumps of course!! It was built by Westfield in 2008 and provides smiles per gallon.
