Absolutely epic. Had an 850 mini 40 years ago souped with twin carbs and 215 tyres. Want want one again. Only thing is the wide tyres for a light car didn't have good grip on the wet, l spun off a few times, went back to 165 tyres for better grip. Look at Monte Carlo rally minis, all had narrow tyres for grip. Aside, congratulations on building this fantastic mini.

Mad on a track, crazy on the road ! Absolutely insane in the wet !! The mini handles like a go-kart but is tricky at the limit. With the engine in the rear, I’m guessing it’ll be like a classic 911. Understeer, then massive oversteer. It’ll hang on until it doesn’t, then, because of the short wheelbase, come around very suddenly and quickly. Thrilling to be sure, but not for the average driver. Reminds me of the Giocattolo in the 80s. A mid-mounted 5ltr V8 in a front engined V6 Alfa Romeo Coupé. Sweet!
@scottloder79763 жыл бұрын
I had a Alfa 1750 GTV when I was in my 20s that handled like that. like you were on rails, but if you pushed it too far would let go the rear very quickly. Great car I wish I hadn't sold it they are worth a small fortune now.

Living in America, every older mechanic has a V8 car of some kind with a carburetor. I've seen a million old muscle cars, and trucks with a plain V8. They sound good, but they are all the same. I have never in my life seen a Mini like this in real person in the States, or if I have, it was maybe only once as a kid. The custom cars like this, which have custom engines, are so much cooler than any factory V8 car with a standard style engine. There's something so special about cramming the wrong engine into a car, and re-engineering the entire car to make it work. And the sound!? WOW. This thing is awesome. The sound is better than any 4 cylinder, and certainly better than the Subaru EJ25 version..
