I can’t find the comment to bump it, but someone said something that got the wheels turning. Here’s my take, Obviously the game showed Paul that weird conversation w Jill, but what was that giant black box that they censored when he returned to that room? It obviously startled him because the video ended w him saying “fuck” Then episode 16 comes out and show the burn in monitor, remember back when the demo showed that the game had been played for like 150 thousand hours straight? And in Petscop 13 the “quit game” button vanished? It’s suggested that whatever Paul saw startled him enough to attempt to leave the game. What we saw in the ghost room was him trying to ignore the blaring sounds from the PlayStation but obviously can’t. Based off of what we can see from the “ghost/testing room” we could deduce that someone, maybe the game, is able to track Paul. So what’s this room? Is there also something keeping him from completely pulling the PlayStation plug? Don’t forget as well, in episode 13 a game message appears stating, “please leave the PlayStation running when you leave. you may stand now.” Why is the game giving such specific instruction?

For those of you who don’t understand what just happened, this episode just shows that they need to keep the console running for some reason. This backs up the fact that the game is said to have been running for 158330 hours (or something like that) in a previous episode. I believe episodes 12-14. One of them. But the end, when it shows the “ghost room”/“testing room”, the small dot has moved from the bed. To the middle of the room, it then moves to the chair. I believe from the lay out of this room, way can say that this is the room the player “Paul” might be in. Which unless the door just isn’t shown in the map; there is no escape for Paul. There also is a piano in to the right of the room. I believe this helps point out the music part of this whole puzzle. That’s just my run down of this.

If the controller is near the piano I think it can only mean a few things: 1-Paul got trapped and doesn’t know that he is 2-Paul got trapped and switched rotations or dimensions with Mervin 3-Paul doesn’t want to play the game anymore and the game is just recording his room. 4-Paul hasn’t played the game for a while and Mervin has escaped 5-Paul is trapped in the game and Mervin can escape any second now

My theory - this game seems to, somehow, 'capture' people. It records their inputs, and plays them back in demo mode ... but more than that, there appear to be real people inside the game that can be interacted with. I think the "burn-in" being referred to is referring to a different kind of "ghost image": not a remnant image burned into the television screen over long exposure, but an echo of *the player* 'burned into' the game over long exposure. That's why the "burn-in monitor" showed what seems to have been someone moving about in a room, labeled as the "ghost room"/"testing room" - that was *the burnt-in echo of the player*, their 'ghost', moving around inside a room in the game. Remember, this was a test copy of the game, meant to do things like record player input for debug purposes - the testing room would have been *the room the game console was set up in.* It's the ghost room because it's the room the ghosts wake up in, or the ghost (or the 'burnt-in' copy) of the room the game console was set up in. And that's why it's so critical to leave the game console on, and why the message on that screen is addressing "Family, neighbors, police" - exactly the people who'd come looking for a missing person nobody had heard of for a while. The player has died, or physically vanished into the game, which is why no controller input has been detected for a long time - but it is critical to leave the game console running, for as long as possible, to make sure that that captured echo of the player fully "burns in" and is saved forever; the player's ghost still lingers in the game's current session, but it needs to be left long enough to make it permanent, or they will be lost when the console is shut off.

But the game could be trying to adapt to the player while telling the story, like adapting a story so a small child understands. the alert is clearly intended for a situation where someone has died while playing the game, hence the police potentially being involved - but what I think has happened is that Paul is woken up by this alarm because he has left the console running and when the dot moves, he goes to turn off the console, which goes against what the game tells him to do. this could also be why Paul is probably dead since he didn’t abide by what the game told him to do and it led to his death.

this is one of the most thought provoking Petscop videos ever, this video is hinting towards Paul's death, or something happened to him. But, at 1:07 to 1:09 you can hear a audible bump sound. and the description for this channel, along with the picture has changed as read here, "Description Some select "Petscop" recordings. In a way, recordings have the power to raise the dead. They're kind of scary. Currently hunting for hidden content." its at the part "recordings have the power to raise the dead." which got me, becuase this means paul was dead this whole time, but once he finished the game, or quit, he died again. resulting in this screen here. that we are all looking at. which raises the question, how was Paul making the videos at first, how did he have a social life, etc etc. Its almost like he was forced by the game to make this series. thats all i had to say on my part, take this into consideration

So I dont know if this will have any relevance to analyzing this new episode, but with older (and even sometimes newer) television monitors, if one specific still image was shown on screen for a long period of time, it would be 'burned' onto it permanently due to certain photons or something getting basically killed by the stress of emitting the same light for a long period of time. I was thinking the term 'Burn-in' could be in reference to that, since no controller input would mean that the same thing shows on the screen for an extended period of time. Maybe this information has relevance, maybe not, I just think it's something to point out.

My theory - this game seems to, somehow, 'capture' people. It records their inputs, and plays them back in demo mode ... but more than that, there appear to be real people inside the game that can be interacted with. I think the "burn-in" being referred to is referring to a different kind of "ghost image": not a remnant image burned into the television screen over long exposure, but an echo of the player 'burned into' the game over long exposure. That's why the "burn-in monitor" showed what seems to have been someone moving about in a room, labeled as the "ghost room"/"testing room" - that was the burnt-in 'image' of *the player*, their 'ghost', moving around inside a room in the game. Remember, this was a test copy of the game, meant to do things like record player input for debug purposes - the testing room would have been *the room the game console was set up in* for testing. It's the ghost room because it's the room the ghosts wake up in (perhaps manually re-created as a level, so as to not make the transition too stressful), or perhaps it's the ghost (or the 'burnt-in' copy) of the room the game console was set up in. (maybe it's still the original testing room, maybe this one is instead the echo of Paul's bedroom) And that's why it's so critical to leave the game console on, and why the message on that screen is addressing "Family, neighbors, police" - exactly the people who'd come looking for a missing person nobody had heard of for a while. The player has died at the controller, or else physically vanished into the game, which is why no controller input has been detected for a long time - but they're still alive inside Petscop, sitting in the testing room. It is critical to leave the game console running, for as long as possible, to make sure that that captured echo of the player fully "burns in" and is saved forever; the player's ghost still lingers in the game's current session, but it needs to be left long enough to make it permanent, or they will be lost when the console is shut off. It's not the image of Petscop burning into the TV screen. It's the image of something else - the image of you, and your gaming room, *that* image that Petscop is seeing for hours, over and over again, from behind the TV screen, looking out - that's being burned into Petscop.

I think what happens is the games records your movements and thoughts and sucks you in. Not literally but it makes you become obsessed with it to the point you play none stop until you die. Marvin and Belle seem to have died and have and their inputs recorded. This message is for when the player's corpse is found that the games needs to continue running so it can record them. In a sense, after they die, they are still playing the game in a way because it's the game mimicking them.

This is actually a good theory. The censored part, I believe, is a phone number. Now, this is where it gets confusing. The phone number is being directed to multiple types of people ( family, neighbors, police) the question is, why? Who is expected to be seeing this? Once the phone number is called, who or what will answer? I feel like, this game was supposed to be an experiment because it's asking for continuous controller input. Once there is no input, it might be expected that who ever was playing it, could have had something happen to them(dying). So when ever the game does not detect input, it creates a loud Noice to alert surrounding people and to who ever finds it, " family, neighbors, police, (or whoever)". But here is another question, why is the game alerting "them" to "keep game console running"? If you ask me, I'd have 1.5 of an answer. 1. The game is linked to the person playing it and cannot be unlinked or it will cause "damage" to the person. And .5 the person is linked to the game and if it where to be disconnected from it it could get "corrupted" like a game saving a file, if you have ever noticed on a save screen, "don't turn off console while saving", kinda same situation here if you ask me...

The message is to alert surrounding people that who ever was playing has most likely died. This is the most likely option at least. This is some sort of Fail-Safe for the game. The loud nose is to get attention, but the monitor I'm unsure of. I'll do more research on "Burn-in" monitors soon. I don't know why Paul would suddenly stop touching the controller. I don't know where his knowledge of it could've come from.

@@legoheyguy7580 As for the monitor, CRT was the main television screen and computer monitor in the late 90's. However, if a certain image was to stay on the same image for long periods of time, the image would "burn" onto the screen permanently. It's the reason why older computer OS such as Windows 95/98 had screensavers, to keep this from happening. And IIRC, some video game manuals also warned about burn-in in that era.

So in some parts of the video, the text "burn in moniter" is shown. This is an actual issue with CRT TVs. According to Wikipedia, "Screen burn-in, image burn-in or ghost image, colloquially known as screen burn or ghosting, is a discoloration of areas on an electronic display such as a CRT display or an old computer monitor or television set caused by cumulative non-uniform use of the pixels." So this warning is probably popping up to tell Paul to come back on to prevent burn in. (This probably isn't the true meaning behind this, but that's what I think the meaning of his video is)

Has anyone noticed how the beginning black screen is a point of view of looking past a grey rectangle and watching a chair and television set where Paul would be playing. If you look st the overhead layout of the room you can see on the left the rectangle right where the chair and TV are sitting. That image is a screen grab of a video camera that watches Paul through a one way mirror. They can watch Paul but he doesn’t see them. Terrifying.

I haven’t seen anyone discuss this yet at all and it’s just something I came upon. When we see the top/down view of the room, on the bottom right, the room is referred to “the Ghost room” or “the testing room”. Skip to Petscop 17 and when Paul (or whoever is playing the game) opens the menu, the message in the menu states,”the ghost room is a ship in a bottle”. Considering that Petscop tasks whoever plays the game to keep the Play station on at all times, perhaps the game is telling us that the ghost room is a form of isolation (like a ship is in a bottle; seemingly no way out) due to them having to keep the game on at all times. Just a thought.

It might be Paul in game or it might be Marvin since that might explain how Marvin was able to show up in one place and then disapear after some time. Another thing is that to show us this video someone had to send that video so actual owner of channel could upload it(it might be that change to channel suggest that something might happened to Paul however it might be as well Paul/Marvin or someone else from the game who tries tells or warn us about future videos) but probably that will be solved in another 2 future videos.

Yes I did notice it as well, also if you watch and hear attentively you can see that the ticks you hear are directly related to the red dot. Every tick makes the red dot brighter and then it starts to fade away, until another tick comes and makes it brighter again. I don’t know what the ticks could be, but they definitely have to do with the red dot.

This is how I interpret this screen: Remember the test players that were shown in Petscop 17? I think they were people that were inside this "ghost room" as a part of an experiment (maybe conducted by Rainer himself) that was supposed to replicate or "rebirth" other people, this is also how people get "trapped" inside Petscop, as the ghost room might force the person in it to continue playing the game and ignoring everything around them. This might also be why Belle (or even Marvin) was "trapped" in the game, they were put into this room and force to play Petscop for long periods of time until someone or something broke them out of the cycle. And I think this is what the screen is for, when "No controller input has been detected for a long time" the game would just assume that either something broke out of the cycle, or the person experience real-life side effects from the ghost room. They also show the "Burn-in Monitor" here, which tracks where the person is in the ghost room, I don't know why they included that though, since it's kind of useless for the person playing the game.

Juan Palencia That’s creepy. Considering Paul is the only one in these recordings (besides the people he talks to/references who are inaudible), it could be said that Paul is... already dead? There’s no other person these recordings could necessarily be ‘raising from the dead’ unless it’s referencing in-game characters. It’s almost as if these recordings of the game are no longer from Paul. Note how much of Episode 15 and of course all of 16 lack any form of monologue from Paul. In fact this recording is the creepiest of them all. Either that this is just a very strange and creepy line the channel owners thought to include.

God this is terrifying. It's bad enough of this game is like "either play me or I'll freak the f*** out". But in addition to that the screen shows what appears to be a person tracked inside of a bedroom, but even more disturbing it calls it the ghost room/testing room. This implies that the tracked person (most likely Paul) is in some sort of experiment. As usual every episode increases the questions without providing any answers.
