What you want to do is take some old turds from the previous litter box and plant them as "seeds" in strategic areas in the new box so the cat can find his smell. I use a pinwheel formation, but Star of David also works well. I made it up.

Thanks for the nice review. I've had this unopened since last year and now I may open the box and set it up today. I didn't know PetSnowy also offered cat litter. Holy crap! They want $64 for two containers on Amazon. It looks no better than any other sand/clay based litter. Why must they over-price items? It led me to buy a well known brand of litter at only $11.

My main concern is that this doesn't seem to have a light inside for older cats that can't see very well. I have such an older cat and because I live in a small apartment, the litterbox has to be confined to the bathroom. Problem is, the bathroom is pitch dark at night, so with this litter box and its curtain a cat would have ZERO visibility when trying to do its business at night. I know, I know - cats have much better vision than we do, but it's a myth that they can see in complete darkness. They require much less light than we do in order to see clearly, but they still require some light source.

I’ll stick to the old fashioned method and supplement with paying my nephews to clean it for me😊. Just like to see what is out there. Also I am implementing an entryway area to reduce tracking that’s not very elaborate but clean looking.

I use worlds best cat litter, it is corn based, would that work with it? I would love this for my 2 cats but it is so darn expensive!!
