Great to see a longer video, I just love all your cats and hope Bertie is feeling better. You have done a brilliant job with integrating the new members of your family and the catio is gorgeous (I could sit all day in it). This may be the one I get in replacement of my Litter Robot 3 It’s cheaper than the LR4 (as of right now) & I think the open nature of it will make it easier for me to clean. I live in a small apartment & my LR is shoved into a coat closet behind a living chair. The cats are fine with the placement, but getting the huge LR out of there to do a deep clean has been so challenging. The fact that I can just access the sides of this machine & lift it up off the base is very appealing to me!

I would have adopted that sweet little calico kitten along with Archie. I’m still using my old fashioned litter boxes. Just don’t have several hundred dollars to buy a high tech one, especially with the cost of everything going up constantly.

We have a 10 year old cat who refuses to use anything that doesn't look like a regular open box, we tried a few different automatic boxes and so far the only one she seems to like is the scoop free box. 140$ and so far works really well.

Oh, I did get the stand that is an accessory they offered. Would not recommend it. It's light with rounded feet. The cats constantly tip it over.

Sending love to little Bertie and I hope he will feel better ❤. I use a litter made from the cores of corn (core/husks/inside leftover bit). You can flush the clumps down the toilet and it maybe small enough for those types of litter boxes. Best wishes to Bertie

Thanks a lot for your videos, last one we've picked because of your help was Petkit Pura Max, now for the second litter box i'm actually thinking about this Neakasa M1. Good thing it's available in my region. I was thinking about Litter Robot 4, but it's not shipped to where i live at. Overall we have Petkit Pura Max for about a year now and it proofed itself very nice and comfortable, since our cats are using it proper way, so there were no any leaks. If anyone have any questions about Pura Max - feel free to ask, i have plenty of experience with this one.

Your catio is always such an inspiration. One day I hope to have something similarly lovely for our cats. Thank you as ever for the review. Glad companies are reaching out to you now so you can give them feedback! I always wonder how these perform with grass litter, as nothing on earth could make me give up my grass/walnut mix (I just buy them separately and mix them about one to one, gives a good mix of odor control, grass has amazing clumping but is too light without the walnut for me). But i also only have one cat to care for so just manually scooping daily isn't a big deal.

I bought many tens of kg of small diameter tofu and I'm really happy that it works in the M1... I'm glad you like the tuscany country and Florence ... I live in the hills a few km from the center because the center of Florence is not liveable 😅

I would recommend you to never ever set foot on Malta then😉 Soo many stray cats everywhere, I never seen a place that is not a sanctuary with more. Luckily they are well kept by volunteers and likened by the vast majort of the population

Thank you. I can’t do a video on that as what is available in the UK is very different to elsewhere. Also there’s not much choice for self cleaning litter boxes for me. It’s clumping clay or clumping clay!

You are literally reading my mind! I'm in the market for a self-cleaning litter box, and it's a tossup between the Meowant, Neakasa, and PetSnowy. Assuming the LR4 is outside of my budget, which do you recommend between these 3 and the new UBPet C20? Looking forward to your video comparison but my wife was hoping to get one sooner rather than later. Hope to hear from you, thank you for all the help in your videos!

Thank you. I can’t answer that for you as I don’t know what your cats are like. If they are ok with enclosed spaces etc. Not a huge fan of the Pet Snowy as it’s so big but the space for the cat is small and it’s all very enclosed. Have you seen my previous video “all the good and bad”? It’s an important one to watch as you will understand all the pros and cons of each style. UB20 is good but I prefer the first one.

We have their current litter in a cabinet enclosure so I don't think they would mind. I did, thankfully, it was so informative. I'm glad to see you recommended the Meowant then and still now, so I'll probably buy it and hope I don't need to interact with their customer service. It's baffling how we can send people to the moon and robots to Mars, but can't make a decent automatic litter box without any major flaws. I've watched every reviews in this channel and honestly feel non of them are worth buying atm. Some leaks, some too small, some have design flaws, some have bad quality, some doesn't sale spare parts.

I get what you are saying. The Litter Robot 4 is the only one right now that I can fully recommend even though they’ve screwed up the pet tracking. This one will be really good if they address all the issues and really they aren’t heard to address.

@@OneManFiveCats I would be worried about the quality of the LR - since there are sooo many issues with the LR3 after like 2-3 years. When looking at the LitterRobot reddit it gives me worries - also the LR4 seems far away from being free of issues. That device costs as much as a smart washing-machine that can literally do more, feels horrible to spend that much on it :D (LR4 899€ vs M1 499€)

I have a cat litter box with a trap door. It caused me problems when it gets stuck (due to sand litter getting inside the mechanism & causing jamming. Then the self cleaning cycle stops as well and there is no option to by pass the trap door status. Eventually I replaced it with a lower model of the same brand, it does not feature a trap door, just a hole into the waste tray.

Self-cleaning litterboxes are almost exclusively the dumbest but this one is rad. Good for kitties who have litterbox issues but otherwise, just scoop it. Change your litter if you find it hard (non-clumping litter kicks ass).

Not planning to. I won’t buy it to review it and I doubt they will send me one after my less than positive reviews of their previous ones. Personally I don’t think it looks great. Less space inside than the Puramax yet it’s absolutely massive due to the self packing part, which is a feature I absolutely don’t want. You are tied into buying their expensive bags and can’t check the waste for any health warning signs. The camera part looks nice though!

I currently have their pura max (including the urine leakage issue, yay) but besides that i quite like it. The Pura X was horrible so i returned it. @@OneManFiveCats Oh and i wanted to add: The Purobot apparently takes photos of the waste so i can check it remotely and the waste bag isn‘t supposed to seal completely at first so you can still check it. I‘m curious to see if and how that works

@@Fayeluria yep I saw that. The camera is very wide angle. I will be very surprised if it has good enough quality to properly see. As cameras are my job I know the sort of camera it would need to be able to what it says and those aren’t cheap…or small!

I'm curious, how much litter do you go through with 7 cats? I have only my 11yo girl and her litter box, high sided, regular plastic litter box where I can forget about it for a few days and there is still not much to clean up (though she likes to pee in two very specific spots so it could also a illusion of less to clean. That said it takes like 20lbs (~9.1kg) to fill up the box to a good depth so I buy 40lbs (~18.1kg) bags and find myself either adding a little after a few scooping sessions or waiting until the litter level gets to the lower end and just chucking the whole batch. Usually I can make a bag go about 2 months, 3 months if I am being really lazy about full litter changes. I imagine though that with 7 cats there is a lot of litter and a lot of topping off. Hopefully the question isn't one you've answered a dozen times before and I've missed it but I am curious given the level of waste production that many indoor cats would result in. Good video as always, even though I'm not in the market for a self cleaning I do enjoy seeing you review them and learning about all the interesting ways people have tried to remove the least favorite chore when it comes to cat ownership.
