That's an oiling system that could catch people out rather easily Joseph - glad I watched this because those Petters are my favourite engines and maybe one day I'll get one - it would be a shame to run the oil dry by mistake.

Yes it is, most of the M`s with white metal bearing have passed from it. Thats why later was upgraded with ball bearings. Mine have the main too gone with significant 0.1mm wear on the crank it self and a total of 0.5mm lift. The big end was gone and at some point someone just badly fitted and splited a main bearing and made it worst. I made new big and and have ground the crank too. The engine now suffers from piston slap that can be heard even in the video. I am now using SAE 40 oil to try and fill all the gaps as possible. Might even try SAE50 too. I am glad you read the description :)

It can be better as it have some piston slap but cant repair that. How are you Paul?

@enginelover1 i think you have the skill to machine a new piston.... Im good, so busy working my engines are all covered in dust. So sad but one day i will get time to get back to them.
@enginelover17 ай бұрын
@rotaryhoes glad you are. Yes I have the skill to do so. What I dont have is a flundry to make a castiron piston. You know how a 2 stroke piston is shaped.

@enginelover1 a wood model, casting sand, melt some metal, sounds like a fun project. We used to do it at school, have to allow for shrinkage and then machining.

Prosit Tassew. I believe a damper on that feedback link would make it a little smoother in its speed control. These are engines with a heat and a should as they run at heart-pace.

Runs pretty smooth! can you repower a lawn mower, with it?

There is a 100 use for stationary engines, I bet lawn mowing was one of them but maybe with a smaller engine haha

Check the oil when it stops smoking.
@enginelover17 ай бұрын
Its not bad to work out with that theory, yes it good practice for not leaving the piston dry out from oil. But the bearing will starve from oil much earlier before it stopes smoking. The sump it self hold accesses oil and that will keep splashing around for some time. Thanks for watching cheers mate

@@enginelover1 old joke, was about Chevys & Fords when I heard it, but, originally, it was probably in an owner manuel.
