When I look back at what Don Ross did for me - when I was young - in my approach of guitar, how he opened a new path that I had never imagined (though he was not the first one in his "style"), I really think that, if I were to discover you today (been following you for a while now), you would leave the same mark on me. Breaking new grounds, pushing the limits of the instrument, you truly are the Don Ross of this day and age. If you don't mind the comparison ;-) Young guitarists are very lucky to grow up listening to your music. And I believe that in the future, you'll be counted amongst the pioneers on the acoustic guitar, with your percussive and energetic - yet melodic - style.

Petteri, could you please someday upload a video with some exercises to improve these intricate percussive patterns *while* strumming? You see... I'm mostly on the shred-hybrid picking side of the Force, but I'm trying to immerse myself in the wonderful universe of percussive fingerstyle, but I don't have any standpoint or reference to work on the percussive patterns by myself. For example, I don't have any idea whatsoever what you are doing to attack these notes in the chorus 00:31 while maintaining a percussive pattern on the guitar body. This stuff simply blows my mind: are you just *hammering* the strings with your left hand and following with slides-legato or are you accurately strumming them? This is just a rethorical question. The thing is I can clearly see you are strumming some of the lower strings while beating on the guitar body and attacking the higher strings somehow for the melody, and I wonder: *how the hell do I do this?* I would love some material to study if you could recommend someone.

Hi Silvio! Yea I should do some tutorial videos. The strumming technique I use is very much mixed with bass slapping and left hand ghost notes. It's an intricate combination which is hard to teach even up close. The movements must be taught in both slow motion and aim directly for fast motion with a relaxed wrist. The real movement sequence can if fact come to life only in real time speed, as it is based on a relaxed wrist and playing against its natural position. So it's sort of controlled idea but it's all about throwing it around :)
