I don't think that June Lockhart was supposed to take Bea Benaderet's place. This was designed to change the direction the show was taking, which was a mistake. June Lockhart is a great actress, who was on such legendary, classic series such as "Lassie" and "Lost in Space". She did the best she could with what they wanted her to do, but the direction the show successfully took kind of died with Bea Benaderet's passing. She was irreplaceable.

Rosemary DeCamp (as Aunt Helen) would have made a much better replacement for Kate. In fact, the shows where she appeared, I hardly noticed Kate's absence. June Lockhart just didn't fill Bea's shoes in any way.

Love June Lockhart, I was a big fan of Lost In Space as a boy. A little too young at the time to appreciate this show and the pretty girls in it. It was mainly Uncle Joe's gravelly voice at the time that really put me off. Such prejudice ha.

I didn't think she added a thing to this show. I thought she was a poor choice to try to fill Kate's shoes. What actress from the time might have been a better fit? I'll have to think about that one. You all have any ideas? They said "a young doc", she hardly qualifies for that either.

t00 June Lockhart was 43 when she was on petticoat junction, hardly a senior citizen. She is still alive now.

I think June Lockhart was a good addition. She seemed to fit in well with everyone. The only thing with her addition was they should have addressed Kate's death. She was only mentioned once after her death. Bea deserved better since she was the lead on PJ.
