Interesting watching these. When it was running I was but a tot. I never really saw it, but have heard of it a thousand times.

The......original 1st Batman......Adam West !!! :))))

Adam West played the one and only Bruce Wayne/Batman from 1966 to 1969. His archenemies were the Joker, Riddler, all three versions of the Catwoman, (although Julie Newman was the main one, followed by Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt) just to mention a few.

Billy Joe was "Hooterville's own Tuesday Weld", but all three gals were pretty. Betty Joe was really cute sometimes.

Linda Kaye was the most adorable to me but the whole cast was outstanding.

You know she was the daughter of produced Paul Henning. Her stage name is her middle name for professional.

I always found it interesting that Linda (Betty Jo) was the youngest Bradley girl but the oldest Henning child. I had a crush on her while watching this in syndication. It wasn't until a few years later when I realized she was born in 1944 and I didn't come along until 1958!

Miss this show no cuss words no nudity .wholesome show
The HOOTERVILLE HOP reminds me of a song/dance that came out later called 'The Locomotion'. I wonder if 'The Locomotion' was birth from the 'HOOTERVILLE HOP'?? Kate had a problem with full-filling her husband's final wishes for Billie Jo & getting Billie Jo to want to go to medical school (Billie Jo's decision) as her father wished for his 1st born. Kate was looking pushy on medical school, but I feel the goal was more to get Billie Jo to stop thinking of Hollywood. Medical school & the doctor were mere tools to stop the Hollywood virus.

Can't figure this one out - behind the Cannonball, the combination passenger/baggage car at 8:32 has three windows on the side. But at 11:30, it has four. When did they install an extra window?

Part of this show's charm is that even though it is of modern times (1960s), they live like it is 1910. The Bradley girls don't even get to watch tv, and most of the phones are the kind that had to be cranked. I usually like Kate, but didn't in this ep...she was too pushy about Billie Jo being a doctor, it became very annoying. Expecting any son or daughter to be a doctor is unfair to that person. Kate usually isn't interfering like that. Billie Jo has other plans, and she might not even be smart enough to go through med school...Billie Jo said once she hated to read. In pre-med and med school she'd be reading and studying too much to even care about her looks, or about boys. Plus there'd be years of schooling to go through. Kate is thinking unrealistically in this, almost stupidly. Adam West sure looks young! I used to watch his Batman show when new. I was a kid then. That Hooterville hop is the only part of this episode I like. It's kinda like the bunny hop dance. I like Betty Jo as her teenaged tomboy self the best, as in this ep.

The same was true of the show, Dark Shadows. Though they had a telephone there was only one, and it was a big deal when they used it. Telephone exchanges had names. They behaved like the 1960s had not reached Collinsport. The one time a character used an “Electrostatic Photocopier” (Xerox Machine) it was a big deal and they had to explain it. What I wonder is how they have electricity at the Shady Rest, being 25 miles from anywhere and I don’t see power-cables strung along the rail-line. If you look closely, all the light fixtures are combination Gas/Electric, which dates the hotel to around 1900 - 1915.

@ Michelle Post: I agree with you about Kate in this episode. It was getting on my nerves too. It should have been Bobbi Jo going to medical school anyway; she was always the brainy one.

At the time these early eps were made, women were rarely accepted in medical schools, I'd think Kate would know that. Also, any parent wanting their kid to be a doctor is putting a lot on that kid.The kid might never have the desire or interest in it, might not be that academic, and the cost of that schooling is enormous.Kate kept telling that doctor that Billie Jo wants to be a doctor when she has no interest in it.

$500 wasn’t going to get you very far in medical school, even back then.

You are right. It is just over $4000 in today's dollars not enough for 1st year of undergraduate studies
