This pedal is exactly the OD I've been in search of for years. Smooth, bite-y, quiet, but edgy.

Amazing showing of this pedal, and it’s a very cool concept. Everyone says they build a pedal with dynamics... that is dynamics. Light touch with fingers doesn’t do anything in the gain area, hit it hard with a pick and it wants to explode. Such a cool idea and would probably work great with a higher gain setup, I think. Now all I have to do is learn to play with dynamics, I grew up hitting strings as hard as I could to make the most noise I could. Awesome pedal though, and your video really did it justice, that is versatile.

For years, it was the Greer Lightspeed for the edge of breakup thing. Right now I've got the Wampler Belle on my board, which I like a lot and has more tonal control than the Lightspeed. Now, maybe this?

Awesome instrumental version of Jack Straw ⚡🎶💀🌹 Digging these new pedals from Pettyjohn! Low gain OD's like this pedal that don't color your sound very much are essential to one's live rig IMHO 👍🎸🎶

Agreed, I have a Timmy for that function, but this pedal also sounds great!

I've been looking at the Chase Tone Secret Pre/Jackson Audio Prism/RC Booster, as something to be a first stage of gain and to stack with my other drives...this has been added to the list for sure. Would love to find some demos with this thing stacked into some other dirt boxes.

I'm getting some real RC Booster vibes from this pedal. Sick playing as always!

This is different than the RC (which I’ve been using since it came out). This is edgier and has its own flavor. Less Transparent

MIke: on almost all my overdrive pedals, I barely crack the gain, and I roll my guitar volume back in search of clarity. I am trying to find a lowgain box that retains articulation through full gain range, as well as wider sweep of my guitar pots. Perhaps this could serve in that capacity??? (Even if it doesn't, the led light is cool enough to purchase::))) Anbody have experience or opinions on the CS mods that Pettyjohn offers - worth the extra $$ ?
@pettyjohnelectronics3 жыл бұрын
This box is all about high headroom and a smooth knee into the saturation zone. Mods on this one are a little different from some of our other mods in that they are specifically designed to push the stock pedal 10-15% to either the more vitnage/warm side or 10-15% towards the cleaner/brighter/ more modern side. We do that by selecting different opamps, different tone caps and different LEDs carefully chosen as our favorites among a large pile auditioned. You wont go wrong with any of them, but maybe there is one that seems like it may fit your rig better! Cheers!

I have ZERO need for a light overdrive. Why do I want this so bad? 😆 Bonus points for throwing in the staples of Mercy Street and Blackbird. I also play a Bella, and sometimes I want more grit from the amp that my OD’s are pushing into. You think this would be a good always-on, last OD in the chain pedal?
@pettyjohnelectronics3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you run it on 18v, it has very high headroom and would work great at the end of a chain!

I love your playing and find it really inspiring. Do you have any compilations or playlists of the covers / songs you've put in your demos? I find your demos the best and most enjoyable out there. Thanks and please keep it up. Best of luck!

Allways a pleasure listening to your demos! So this is a kind of "dumblesque" pedal as far my ears tell me... What is that flickering LED indicating? The Edge?
