Merci d'avance 🙏
@TK42138 Жыл бұрын

Hi, is it possible to solve this problem by combining only the ECU and not the whole ABS pump?

Unfortunately not. The abs and control module are almost impossible to separate without causing damage to both.

Hope it helps, don't forget to take photos as reference guides before you disconnect anything and don't rush it. If the brake pipes to the ABS block are original or never been disconnected, the pipe unions can be a bit stubborn to undo. Go easy and spray some thread release on them before you plan to remove them. Good luck. 👍

just about to do this on my 2004 206SW 1.4. Can I ask what model Foxwell you have?.. all the advice I've seen says you "must" use Diagbox or Peugeot Planet... my other code readers don't work on a Peugeot but if Foxwell does I'll get one of those !
@TK421389 ай бұрын
Hi, my one is the NT414 which is now several years old but still works. I think it's been superceded by the NT515 or possibly 600 series. I didn't have any problems with my Foxwell connecting with our 2004 Pug. In fact the replacement ABS unit cleared the fault code. Just make sure the brakes are bled before connecting the battery. A bit of polythene bag under the reservoir lid can reduce brake fluid loss when you loosen off the pipe unions but have old cloths to absorb spillages because brake fluid will damage paint.

@@TK42138 Thank you !... I have various scan tools that recognise the protocol but when I run a fault check they all say "no errors in ECU" even though I have a permanent ABS light on, pedal pulses on application and I'm pretty sure it's the controller as I've tested the sensors..cheers !

When replacing the abs pump does the pump need to have exactly the same code on the bar code or will any do of the same model?
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
The code must be the same to ensure the correct type of ABS is fitted for your particular age, model and option list of the car. Some 206 had ABS with electronic stability control which means abs pump is slightly different.
@luketuttiett6 жыл бұрын
TK42138 cheers for the reply. I found an abs pump at a local dealer. I couldn’t find the exact abs pump and feared I would have had to code another model.
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
@@luketuttiett Electronic stability control is also known by Peugeot as 'Electronic Brake force Distribution'. So long as part numbers match then replacement unit should be fine. Regarding abs warning light - on my car, I didn't need to reset light as the fault was a seized motor. However some abs faults might need clearing using suitable code reader/OBD unit.
@luketuttiett6 жыл бұрын
TK42138 mines a blocked pumped too. I had it apart and repaired the motor but it didn’t last that long. (The bearing was shot). I use Delphi DS150e so it’ll clear the car. They didn’t make it easy for us guys to repair the pumps.
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
I was surprised when the abs warning light went out as soon as new pump was fitted and connected up. My old pump motor had corroded under the cover. As you say, they don't make it easy to remove. Cover was staked on to the pump body.

Not familiar with that particular ABS unit. I suspect it will be a bit more sophisticated with regard to bleeding the system after installation and resetting or coding the ABS pump to the car.

Just been Googling 307 abs issues and apparently there have been some dealer recalls for ABS ECU and/or associated wiring loom which can suffer water ingress. www.peugeotforums.com/threads/307-abs-pump-fault-52-reg-2-0-hdi.1793/

Hi there, how did you bleed the brakes after fitting the pump? Did you just use the conventional two-person method? Thanks again.
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
Hi, I prefer to use a pump pressure bleeder which screws onto the master cylinder reservoir. I don't like the two-person method because pushing brake pedal all the way down to the floor can damage the seals by flipping or reversing the cupped seals so it can't generate hydraulic pressure. If you have to use two person method then brake pedal should only be pushed to same amount that you would in normal braking.
@kieranbutroid46316 жыл бұрын
TK42138 Thanks! I’ve just bought the Eezibleed pressure kit today so hope that works. My main concern was making sure fluid fills the voids in the pump after replacing it. Thank you very much for your reply. :)
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
@@kieranbutroid4631 On the Peugeot 206 the ABS pump will be bled once it's connected up and braking system is bled through. Officially, any ABS pump should be kept level during transport and handling to reduce chance of air getting in or fluid out when it's disconnected from donor car or after bench testing if a factory rebuilt part. However in real world, so long as system is bled, you should be ok.
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
@@kieranbutroid4631 Ezibleed should work ok. Follow the instructions though. Been years since I used an Ezibleed. I think the spare tyre pressure must be reduced to 15 psi. Also good idea to have a hose nearby just in case you have to rinse off brake fluid splashes from Ezibleed.

Hi, my friend has a problem with their Citroen C2 1.1L and i think it might have the same engine as this - do you know if thats so, or exactly what engine this one in the video is? Fantastic video btw, if its the same engine this video makes it look easy to replace! Mechanic quoted £500!
@TK421385 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes - the Citroen C2 1.1 is the same engine (TU series) as the Peugeot 206 and other models.
@TK421385 жыл бұрын
The ABS pump is generally straight forward to remove (once the headlight is removed) but it's definitely worth spraying some anti-seize on the pipe unions on the valve block. They can be really stubborn because of the steel pipe unions are screwed in to an aluminium valve block.
@TK421385 жыл бұрын
£500 seems a bit steep. Just make sure the part number on replacement pump is same as your old pump. Even though C1 is mechanically similar to the Peugeot 206, there may be differences on the type of abs pump used depending on what options your car has, so any replacement pump must be the same. Also, don't condemn the pump until you're sure it isn't just a duff wheel sensor.

How did you take the wiring connector off? - This looks similar to Citroen C2
@TK421383 жыл бұрын
On the 206 and other similar PSA group models, there is a large cam type clip which is released and as it moves, it forces apart the ABS connector block. It can be hard to remove if it's never been apart. I used WD40 to work its way between the dirt that builds up between the outer parts of the connector. Often the clip will snap if it's forced as years of engine heat can make it brittle.

How did you get the connector off from the pump ?
@TK421385 ай бұрын
There is a clip that needs lifting and pivoting back to release the connector. It will probably be quite hard to move if it's never been removed before. I sprayed some WD40 over the clip pivot points and gently worked it loose.
