I recently changed my daughters C2 1.4 hdi ABS pump due to it leaking associated with long and soft pedal travel. There was no need to hook up to engine management system even though I was told it would need to be. Just a simple swap out and bleed. Pedal travel and leak sorted. No ABS warning light or codes on OBD2. This C2, however had a basic system and did not have active ride or what ever other bullshit.

Hello. Do you have to code it to the car after or is it straight plug and play? Thanks

Hi there how did you bleed the system after, just standard method? Thanks and great videos.

Hi , can you fill abs unit with fluid before reconnecting pipes to avoid bleeding system

Any work on a braking system means it should be bled as air will have got into the pipes when the pipes, hoses are disconnected. New or reconditioned ABS pump/blocks often have fluid in them and blanking plugs to keep it in while it is being transported (as some ABS pump blocks really don't like being emptied and air getting in). Second hand pumps will normally be supplied with brake pipes still attached but cut and crimped to stop it draining empty. The Pueugeot 206 lower spec models are fairly simple but other makes or higher performance models will have different brake bleeding procedures.

Hello, good tuto but you didn't show how you remove the abs block socket (yellow). Could you tell me because i need to remove it to clean inside. i'm afraid to brake it ! thank's

Hi, sorry for delay in replying. For some reason some questions have been blocked by the spam filter. Anyway, you need to use a flat-bladed screwdriver to move the locking lever on the ABS socket connector. As the lever is then pushed away, the connector will automatically push backwards to disengage. Please note - if the connector has never been removed before, it will be reluctant to move because grime and fine road dust will have 'gummed up' the socket. This can make it reluctant to move. You have to be patient and some application of WD40 can help free off the socket locking mechanism.

Why no mention of bleeding the brakes ? Is it necessary ? Can someone advise me, this crucial surely.

Yes, the brakes are bled after any work that involves disconnection of the brake pipes and hoses. I had advised that in the video notes.
