I don't know why your videos dont have any more views. This series is great in-depth explanations, good tips and good camera angles. What is the name of the hook tool you use at 5:24?
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
It's part of a 'pick and hook' set. Had this for many years I think it was from Frost. Almost identical to other makes such as Draper, Rolson, Halfords and others. Very useful to have in the toolbox.

That job would make a bishop kick in stained glass windows. I am taking the starter motor out and that is bad enough! Nice work.

Changing the clutch cable is an awkward job too. Didn't get chance to include that part when I did the clutch as memory card failed so going to add an update very soon.

Hi there nice video ! May i ask you what kind of wire was the one in green and yellow close to the ground cable bolted to the transmission box body and to where is it connected from the other side ?... i was cleaning the ground cables today and i realized that cable was cut and missing ...
@TK421384 жыл бұрын
Many thanks. I've had a look and one end is bolted to the gearbox but the other end disappears into the wiring loom. I'd have to check the wiring diagram to see where it starts.

Hi TK42138, when you removed the clutch cable (around min 5:00), the auto adjustment fully extended. Did you have to reset the auto-adjuster before reinstalling the cable? If you reinstall the cable without resetting the adjuster, won't the release bearing be pressed against the pressure plate? Thanks in advance!
@TK421385 жыл бұрын
So long as there's no fault with the adjuster mechanism at the pedal end, and the cable isn't being replaced, you only need to connect up the cable to the gearbox and press the pedal several times to operate the auto adjust mechanism. Worth noting access to the pedal and adjuster unit is very restricted and steering column has to be removed.

Hi i got some advice from you last week ref change clutch on my car. Now i have a new problem i need to change the front drivers side spring. Im wondering should i change the whole strut would i need the equiptment to lower the spring to fit it? In other words if i buy 2nd hand already fitted can i just swap them over with less problems than replacing the spring itself? Or do you have a link to help please thanks
@TK421386 жыл бұрын
Yes, a strut swap is the best way especially as Pug 206 front springs can 'put up a fight' to compress safely using traditional spring compressors.

@@taz7404 The two strut to hub clamp bolts can also 'put up a fight'. It helps to wire brush around the threads and the joint where the strut mounts into the hub and spray some anti seize such as Plusgas - especially if the suspension is original and hasn't been apart before.

How's the clutch and suspension swap going?

Where is the starter Motor ?
@TK421384 жыл бұрын
Back of the engine block facing the bulkhead. The starter motor mounting bolts are through-bolts and act as the block to gearbox fixing bolts.

I need some help I'm having problems with my 206 when I'm driving along I lose acceleration and the revs go right up but then after a few seconds they go down and the car slowly starts to speed up again do you have any ideas of what's wrong iv been trying to get help everywhere but I don't know what to do now

Manual gearbox or automatic?
@TK421385 жыл бұрын
If your 206 is a manual, the only reason the revs will increase when car is in gear but speed doesn't increase much is a slipping clutch. This is exactly what our one did. Unfortunately that means a new clutch is needed because it's either worn or oil has got onto the friction surfaces.
