Hi great video!!! I was looking into changing a faulty vehicle speed sensor on my 206 2006 but have not managed to locate it through looking from the top of the engine. Is it located on the passenger side of the engine on left hand drive vehicle? (left of the vehicle when looking from the front)

@@TK42138 Hi! It is working intermittently, sometimes it will just die and register as 0 Km/h on the dash and some minutes later start working again and show the correct speed. I was thinking about removing the air box and the boot that connects it to the throttle body to have a better look

The speed sensor (transducer) is bolted to the gearbox near the starter-motor. Removing the air box, intake pipe, battery and battery tray gives you a lot more room to access the sensor.

Right hand drive shaft , i removed those support bearings totally off (min 3:48). What kind of manipulation you did to get it off. Mine is so stuck in the place that it doesnt come off.Any recommandation?

I sprayed some Plusgas around the intermediate bearing housing because the bearing often sticks in the housing. A gentle tap around the back of the bearing using a soft-faced hammer and drift will loosen it if it's being stubborn.

I'm swapping the gearbox from one car to another as my main car is in great condition just a broken gearbox, no difference in the gearbox just the good one has a plug above diff and the broken one hasn't, would this make much difference as the car I'm putting it in hasn't got any electrics to plug into it?

@@jackjordan6051 What plug? The only electrical connections on this gearbox is the earth cable, reverse light switch and the speedometer transducer (sender unit). What driveshaft is causing the problem?

I have no idea what the plug is for it's sat on the gearbox above where the driveshaft sits in, it's the drivers side shaft thats being a pain, it's nearly out though

@@jackjordan6051 The drivers side shaft intermediate bearing can be stubborn where it sits in the housing. Years of grime, oil residue and engine heat can make it stick even when retaining bolts are freed off.

@@TK42138 it's getting there, I've unbolted the housing now as I'll be using the driveshafts with the gearbox anyway so I'll just change the whole thing over. It's all good fun

Im thinking of doing the clutch on my 206cc its such an expensive fix. Totally see why its humdreds to fix it but i dont have hundreds to spend. the ex who is a mechanic has left me no choice coz my car has been sat in the car park for a month. I need to fix this myself. I dont mind getting grubby and have fixed older cars of my own. This looks challenging and i want to do it. But i dont have a hanging bar to stabilize the top engine as shown. Can i add an extra jack under the engine for support..? This is my only worry lol

Yes, you can use another jack and a block of wood between the sump and make sure it's big enough so it doesn't slip when removing the gearbox as it will be taking the weight of engine once the gearbox-to-body mount is removed.

So there’s no bolt holding the gearbox on? I don’t know how to get it off I see no bomts

In addition to the four bolts holding the gearbox to the engine (two at the top and two at the bottom) one of the starter motor mounting bolts also doubles as a gearbox to engine bolt so you will need to loosen the starter motor. Assuming all the bolts are out including the transmission to body mount (under the battery tray) and the starter motor bolt, there are steel spacers/collars (that act as locators between block & gearbox) that often stick thus making it difficult to pull gearbox from engine.
