Before I installed new front speakers on my 206 SW ,i did an over the top insulation of the inside of the doors + foam & pieces of thick carpet under the gaiter to quiet the car noises....the difference in DB from the road & sound is great..cheap & easy DIY tricks(with a 10$ yoga-mat..rather that spending 50 on dynamat or boom-mat..!!

If the new one already has its own insert built into it then you will need to remove the original one from the gear shifter stick

I think it's glued on so I don't think there's any way of removing it without destroying it.

Hey, I was just wondering if it’s possible to remove that sleeve adaptor as I have bought an after marketed threaded gear shifter with a threaded knob adaptor to fit it. If able to remove the knob sleeve I would put the threaded adaptor turning my short shifter into a threaded one making it easier to change gear shifters.

​@@screwsnutsandboltsI replaced my gear knob a couple of days ago, i bought an after market adaptor as well just in case and indeed the "white stuff" broke as i took it out and it was hard to cut it. After that when i replaced it with the after market, the hole was bigger and my gear was always making turns, it wasn't steady... I kinda found a solution with some silicone, but i don't know if it'll keep it up.
