Love my 308, 158,000 miles later, interior quality is superb and far better than golf etc.. I also had the older 308 and drove it for 275,000 miles without a single fault! Nothing to camplain about at all, highly recommend.

I absolutely disagree with the comments about the interior quality - having compared the 308 to its rivals, I think it's up there with the A3. Admitteddly, the rear legroom is compromised. Great car nevertheless.
@derbigpr50011 жыл бұрын
You see, this is why car reviews on this channel are sometimes idiotic. Quality of materials is poor? What is she on? This car has better materials inside than Golf 7 and is on par with Audi A3. The only two places where you wont find high quality soft touch plastics is those two places that she touched, interesting isnt it? She mentions bad quality materials, but doesn't mention that entire door panelts and dashboard are covered with the highest qualty soft touch plastics and real aluminium and leather. The first thing that struck me when I tested the 308 was the quality of the interior. I drive a BMW 3 series E90 and 308 is better in terms of interior quality no doubt about it. The solidity and attention to detail is above Golf 7 level. This is just a typical channel where the car gets a score based on how much the manufacturer pays, and we all know VW group cars pay the most. I find it very frustrating to watch reviews of cars I know and have experience with and then hear the crap they make up about it that NOBODY who ever spent a second with the car would believe, but it actually ruins the car in the eyes of the people who havent tried it yet.

I drove BMW X5 , I drove Porches & Jaguars However I found this New 308 more interesting & Fascinating than those considered premium cars Why ? Anyone can build a Gas Guzzler , however to build a medium size Family car capable of 0-60 MPH in 9 sec + reaching 122 MPH and still getting 97 MPG is Amazing ( I do believe in MPG Manufactures claims ) they are achievable with premium fuels and by not exceeding 55 MPH

i have been driving 1,2 puretech 130ps eat 6 automatic with middle active trim and 16 inches alloys in turkey. and here is my honest thoughts. it is a top notch car. swift enough (almost 9 sec. 0-100 km or 0-60 milesspeed up) it is frugal let me instance it, if you drive very careless and push 140 km/h and generally 120-130 km/h it consumes around 6,5 liters. if you drive around 120 km/h and barely exceed it, it consumes 6-liters (on 100-km distance) and if you be careful drive around 100-105 and never exceed 100 if there is no downhill and if you uphill around 90 km/h you will probably see under 5,5. my last try was 5,2... also handling and feelings of steering is very well (especially compare with my previous Hyundai i30 n kia ceed). when i pass the staring to my mates to drive it, i always see the well satisfy by them. everybody WHO try they like the car. shortcomings?? well they re obvious limited back side that is consequence of large boot which is leader in it's class. also there is no proper space for ur small belongings around driver seat. and this touchscreen. climate contols are must to be sperated thats for sure and obvious fact. Beside this car is almost 2,5K cheaper than golf 1,2 tsi comfort dsg (i know it is huge and thanks for greedy vw importer company) in turkey. anyway to sum up this review is a bit cruel. dont you agree?

Laughable to see these UK reviews of French cars. Outstanding french cars get totally average ratings by British reviewers, but at the same time they can barely keep their noises out of German and American car manufacturers arses. This exact car, same model, Peugeot 308 wiped the floor with it's competitors and was chosen European car of the Year 2014. But in British reviewers eyes it is only an average car, not able to compete with it's competitors from Germany and US. Check other UK reviews, it´s going to be the same.

+SumoGambit I like this 308, and the French have made some classic cars over the years, but to say French cars are outstanding is not true. They make great engines and chassis, and they look good, but they are well known for electrical problems, suspect build quality, being difficult to work on, and expensive parts. Before you ask, I think German cars are overated by the reviewers, and not just British reviewers.
@carbiify9 жыл бұрын
+Zeno D Peugeot has been bailed out by the French government at least twice to keep them alive. China's Dongfeng and the French government both have a sizable stake in Peugeot. If it wasn't for the French Government, Peugeot would be foreign owned, or dead already. If Peugeot needs bailing out, then they're not selling enough vehicles, which means they might not be not good enough.

I was looking forward to see a review for this car ever since I saw the 308 interior design is simpler and more refreshing than other cars. The review is probably the shortest review I've ever seen from Carbuyer and doesn't explain why which makes it a bit questionable. In the 208 and 508 reviews I haven't seen complains about materials quality (maybe the amount of antracit colored plastic in 508 is a bit much) , it seems a bit weird for 308 to have bad interior quality , also the video does not quite well explained what exactly leaves the impression of bad quality. I also wonder why she tells the display controls are slow and hard to use - give an example of ease of accessing car functions (climate control , navigation, mpg, radio etc ) compared to other cars. Also she say there is not enough room in the back yet no visible knee room and head room test. In my opinion this review is much too flimsy to be trusted, and it determined me to schedule a test drive for the car and see it for myself

I just returned a 308 Allure after a 2 day test drive. I returned the car early actually. While I didn't like the interior when it was first launched it grew on me and I've had my eye on the Feline version for a while which they don't do anymore. My first impressions were "wow, is this a Peugeot", however then you see where the cost cutting has been made... The windscreen wipers have had no thought put into them and don't clear a great portion of the screen, the sound system is by far the WORST I have ever heard in a car. I'm coming from a 2008 pre-facelift Ford Focus, while also top-of-the-range, it benefits from an excellent sound system with a huge amount of bass. The Peugeot however has no depth to the sound quality at all. The only way I can think of to describe the sound is by holding a bed sheet taught and hitting it with a stick, that would be a replicable sound. I thought the gearbox was also quite weak and I often found it difficult getting into second and it would crunch going into reverse, fifth or sixth. I test drove a 1.6 BlueHDI with 120HP and it had more guts than my 2.0TDCi from my Focus (also a PSA engine). I wondered if the 2.0 HDI had a different gearbox paired to it but the salesman informed me that it's the same engine just tweaked for more output with the same mechanics. Driver and passenger seatbelts also did not have any height adjustment and I found it to be positioned too high. Lastly. The infotainment system is just shocking to use, very slow and clunky. Once you get used to it, the workings become a but easier but there's no quick way to turn the AC on or off and if you want to change the climate to mono (which I use all the time in my Focus) it's hidden in a sub menu. The Bluetooth also took an age to change song, you press next and wait for the screen to change the song and then you have to wait for the system to request it from the phone it sometimes took up to 10 seconds just to change a song which is not an issue I've had in my Focus, Mondeo or even a Laguna I once owned. The salesman was also not interested at all and was extremely rude, I would not be returning there even if I intended to buy the car. Other than the faults that stopped me from purchasing one. I found the car to be excellent with extremely good body control and handling. Sorry for the long comment, I just tried to get my honesy opinion across and of course a few of these things are subjective to myself and the way I drive.

I'm looking at the 308 as a possible change..the car looks good! Interior is one of the best looking in the class. Golf looks drab compared to it. But..the Guilietta is STILL the best looking hatch now in 2022. I recently bought a mk2 BMW Z4 2.5. Looks great..but I still enjoy driving my Guilietta more..& its nearly as quick! I've had 3 Mercs an Audi & now this Z4. They are overrated! You really do pay for that badge! VERY DISAPOINTED : I am from Morocco and i always watch your reviews. not to chose what car to buy but essentially to know what's new in the market (car fun). i find your car reviews quite simple, precise and very helpful. they goes over every caracteristic of the car (practicality, engines, design, ..) by testing every one of them in a very accurate way. However, i find your review of this peugeot 308 (that is a very expected car) very very pooor. you have not dedicated enough time for it, you speaked well about the engines, design and ride. but your reviews were all about completness. praticality test is poor, only the boot is tested, rear passenger space and practicality in the front are not tested and you say they're poor and that the dashboard is bad. how in the hell are we supposed to believe that without at least seeing it in this video!! so i am very dispointed with your review of the 308 especially that it's a whole new car that is very expected and not just an evolution. and if a second video is not done to correct this huge mistake, i might seriously consider conspiracy theory (you're putting in disadvantage french cars without apparent reasons).

I sooo wanted Peugeot to succeed with the new gen cars, but they've done to this what they've done to 508 and the C4. Now it's just as dull as the German rivals, but not as good. They'll lose their niche buyers without gaining any mainstream ones.
@fundiver19811 жыл бұрын
I don´t agree. It looks much better than the old 308, which to be honest was a bit of a minger. And didn`t sell well either. So this is actually already Peugeots attemt to COME BACK in the C-segment, not to stay in it. If they will succeed remains to be seen. But its a tough market with eg. korean brands having lower production costs and german brands at least a perception of better quality.

I don't know if it is me. But I really don't like those infotainment dash screens. I think they are too complicated to operate (especially whilst driving). I mean, you can't use a mobile phone while driving, so why is it ok to look at a laggy screen fiddling about with it? What's even more worse is the cars main controls (heaters, A/C etc.) are all based on the screen, and you have to click on and off different screens to get the right thing. I think the screens are damn right mischievous, and shouldn't be aloud in any car. Don't get me wrong, I love Peugeot. But I don't think they should have these screens in, at all.
@daveh941511 жыл бұрын

HectorNintendoCraft Cars have always become bulkier with each revision. It means they can bring in newer smaller versions and then phase out the larger ones.

it's look like beauty this car from future u can find this material on future car example the dashboard no button and a small steering wheel in fact the safety on top rating go check on "euroncap.com": if u open the door u see the future over u forget the older and rubbish car with button also restyling car like a golf this is the new generation and a good value and efficiency if u want to sell it u can sell them at 2024 :D and if u want to buy a golf be shur the next generation will be on 2018 :D not like P 308 and i wish u a good year with happiness and love :) peace
