Peugeot 308 SW 2015 review - Car Keys

I rented a 5 door 308 for a week last year and my wife and I loved it. We are picking up our 308 SW tomorrow, all going well!

I was going to until the seller told me an HDI 115 hp SW was coming in from the factory. So I got it. And I just love it. It's a dream of a car.

Vee One I have a 2014 clio but gonna change car next year and one of the cars I'm thinking about is the 308 sw. The only thing I would think I could be bothered about is the touchscreen when it comes to the air conditioning. Any thoughts on the touchscreen? Working well?

It works wonderfully, you just have to get used to it. I just like that tablet. I'd feel lost without a "tablet" like that now. After two months and a half with the car and more than 7000 km with it, seeing other car dashes with so many small buttons "hurts" my eyes. The buttons in the Peugeot's 9,7 inch tablet are big and you can enjoy having a clean space with different screens for different functions -even turn off the screen if you want to. Look for youtube videos on how it works and you'll love it when you try it on your own. Hope I helped!

Vee One thanks a lot for your detailed answer. Yeah I guess it's just something you will get used to. Then I'm not gonna cross this car of my list due to the screen. I really really like the design of the car and it seems so practical. Good idea though to search for a video/article about the screen. Didn't think of it, I just searched for videos about the car and then tried to pay extra attention when they talked about the screen; ) kind of want this year to be over so I can serially start to look for my next car. It will most likely be a 308sw though. Good to hear that the buttons on the screen are nice and big. Would be annoying to fiddle around with small buttons on a touchscreen while driving.

I think they've done an awesome job with this car, I would get one. I currently own a Peugeot 307 '06 wagon and it's an excellent littler car with incredible room on the inside, particularly in the boot. Very nice on the inside, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights that turn on when it gets dark and also when it rains. They've really gone ahead the last 9 years with this 2015 model

Had this car for just over a month and honestly, I'm really impressed. Getting over 60mpg and it is seriously comfortable, quiet and cosseting. It seems really well made, I hope over time this proves to be the case. Great job Peugeot, this is the first car from you that I've owned I'm really enjoying it. Such a shame most motoring journalists seem to have an unfair bias towards german cars, they have their faults too. I had been a long life fan and owner of VW cars but due to the recent emissions scandal and the way they are treating UK VW buyers I'll not be buying any more cars from them! cheers

Great cars, would recommend them to anyone! Also have the biggest panoramic glass roof I have ever seen, goes all the way to the boot!

I rented a 308SW HDi and I agree with the review. It is a comfortable spacious & powerful but has two serious design flaws. The steering wheel is too small and blocks the view of the clocks and the cruise control lever unless you lower it so that it touches your knees., The on screen heating control is very difficult to use. In the absence of dials, you have to keep pressing the temperature contol repeatedly as it changes by 0.5 deg at a time. I almost lost control on a bend at 70mph when I had to keep looking at the screen to fine tune the temperature. When adjusting the fan & temperature on the screen the satnav and radio displays disappear. It is like operating an ipad requiring all your attention - very distracting and very dangerous so I had to ask my passenger to operate it at all times. With an ordinary steering wheel and heating controls & this could have been one of the best cars in its class.

I got this car as a rental after my VW was stolen. First week I really needed to get familiar with the car, but after that I start loving it and now I'm buying it. I'm not using the touchscreen when I'm driving. Here in Holland the car also has more plusses, like better taxes. In my opinion it NEEDS an automatic (EAT6), I don't like the stick in this car.

@@jerryrawlings8885 I love the car so far, no issues what so ever. Only 86000 KM now so maybe belt issues come later. Next year I need to order a new one, I hope the next 308 is available by then.

I have a Peugeot 308sw HDi GT 180bhp 2.0 and I think its great after owning a 406-508sw-3008 Allure this car has the edge.

I like it.. Wish we had Peugeot here in the States. Only thing is she's slightly underpowered for the American market.

I think most cars are made to a very high standard these days...often using the same working parts. Thus most choices are aesthetic or born out of brand loyalty. I like this one. Thanks for a useful review.

I really do hope (probably in vain) that this trend of having everything controlled by touchscreens is going to be fairly shortlived. In my view it is a dangerous traffic hazard.

I've got a 1.2 petrol brilliant car swallows all my fishing tackle with ease economical and practical what more could one ask for much better than the ford focus I had prior to the 308

Been as good as gold had it for nearly 3 years now no problems at all had the bad luck to fall over and break my ankle so car stayed in garage 10 weeks later started straight away no problems with flat battery you won't go wrong buying one of these

ive recently purchased a peugeot 308 sw blue HDI and I'm sort of happy with it . though i dont like the way i have to leave the engine on to have the radio on.

There is only one button remaining on the dash and this is the volume control. Pitty Peugeot couldn't be bothered to move it from its left-hand drive position.

2023...just bought a 6yr old 'Police Spec' one,with "physical" heater controls and a MANUAL handbrake (say a lot,when the Police won't have the electronic rubbish?). Backwards needles on the dash are just a gimmick they could have left out! Bit sluggish off the bottom of the rev range compared to the previous model, a retune maybe in order?

Just drove the 2015 308sw in Portugal. Great car but my brother in law's bmw wagon was filled at the same time I filled my car. By the time I filled a second time, the bmw was still at 3/4 tank full. Perhaps because my car was automatic and his was stick.

Argh...I don't know. I like what they did with the 308. I love the simplified cabin, and it all has a quality feel to it. But I can't help but think it's just really...boring. Which I don't think it should be.
