How do you take up the slack on the adjuster underneath the car underneath the handbrake? Cheers...Great video 👍

Thanks for the video, very informative. Interestingly, I had same fault with my 2016 expert. I ordered the part and replaced it myself with the help of your video. The cable was £85 from Peugeot... I sent a short letter to inform Peugeot that this is actually a serious fault as the handbrake could have given out whilst the car was stationary parked and caused an accident... They would not refund in goodwill , and insisted on me paying £144 just to examine the situation, subsequently, my complaint has fallen on death ears and they will not consider it at as manufacturing fault, they would not even consider examining the original part. shocking!! ( that metal clip makes a difference )

Hi, where can I get a new splitter or do you have to buy a new cable with a splitter included? Thanks.

Thanks for the video! I’m having an issue where one of the rear wheels is slightly sticking when the handbrake is down… I’ve sprayed the splitter area with dw-40 which seems to do the trick for a while, but it dons sticks again. Should I try grease? Thanks in advance!

@@MTMMotorServices hey mate I’m doing our works vans mot today and I’ve got a leaky caliper(have new to swap it with) but the other side the handbrake isn’t engaging in anyway any ideas I remember the last owner of the van complaining about the handbrake constantly and then he did something to it and he said it was golden after but unfortunately for me being the tinkering type of the firm it’s been left to me lol

@@Tizzy_p hey, Inspect the handbrake cable, it may be stretched or seized on the side in question. Next would be to check the caliper itself. And or any diezed components such as pads or shoes depending on the set up of your van. Its common though on vans that carry heavy loads that the cables stretch.

Thanks for the video, but... Isn't insane that they make this kind of parts in plastic...? However, I don't think this apply to our Peugeot expert from 2007. Although I can't find the simple adjustment screw, and the Haynes handbook (for our model) says, just "rotate the collar anti-clockwise to align the arrow/protusion with the 'unlocked' symbol.", however I can not find this "collar"...
@RolandOrre4 жыл бұрын
I saw something that looks like the "collar" they speak about in Haynes at 5:50 in the video, but... where?
@RolandOrre4 жыл бұрын
OK, now I found the collar they speak about, but adjusting is not not problem, when I followed the manual, going to the first click, the left wheel worked fine, hardly movable at all, but the right wheel was totally movable, then I struck the handbrake several clicks, and then the right wheel locked, even locked when releasing the hand brake, seems as I may have to replace the cable from left to right, but first I will dismount the wheel and inspect the brake on the right side. I found that the break cable is open for rust between left and right insane :o The rear breaks are almost new, replaced one year ago.
