The range is ok, the lack of being able to switch to one pedal driving is still disappointing but worse of all is the pricing. Here in Malta they are asking for €41,000 starting for the new e308. That is insane compared to the completion. It is the same story with the Astra.

Nice review Tish. I’ve just purchased an e-2008 9 month old ex demo for £24k and added a five year warranty for an extra £500. The price drop of £17k in under 9 months just shows you how over priced the car is. Hopefully with cheaper batteries and further mass production the price point can be under £30k to compete with the Chinese offerings.

These large screens with more buttons that I have on my phone bother me. How far is it possible to travel while adjusting cabin temperature? On my 2008 4007 I can change settings simply by touch, I don't need to look away from the road.

In terms of design and interiors, intellectual honesty commands us to admit that Peugeots are way ahead of their time. I love the 408 totally futuristic, smart design. Was in Paris days ago, I saw one and I can tell you it looks absolutely stunning and really really impressive. It looks and feels really posh.

As an E2008 owner i agree with Tish that the car is great to drive and really pleased with its quality... however its downfall is dismal range especially in the winter. The fact Peugeot have not significantly improved this and for the better specification versions its too dear. I'm looking at the Megane or Nero to switch to when i replace ... or the Smart #1 if its available

Looks good but think it will fall behind the new Volvo EX30, the Volvo I think is a bit smaller but the Ultra is around the same price as the GT with a few options to match the Ultra and the Volvo is a ground up EV. The e2008 is behind on range, performance, safety features and OTA updates of the Volvo. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Thanks for a great review Tish. As an e208 driver I can confirm pretty much everything you’ve said is true - nicely packaged car, handles well and nice interior. The piano buttons are great but I only use the max air con and max de-misting ones TBH and yes it’s annoying to have to use the touchscreen for adjusting temperatures. What I would say is the price for this and other Stellantis EV’s is just too high. I’ll need to change my EV (company car) in 2 years and it looks like there will still be a huge number of £35k - £40k cars out there which IMHO is just too much. I’ll almost certainly be going for an MG4 next time (or a new MG5 if it’s out) unless prices come down (or big increase in range/specs). That’s a shame as it’s a very good car but alongside the Corsa just too expensive now.

Thanks for an interesting review but I wouldn't compare the 2008 with the Niro EV which is the next size up. When they launch the 3008 electric then that would be a comparison. The problem with all these EVs from established brands is that they are typically €10K more expensive than their ICE equivalents, at least that's the case here in France. Chinese brands are a huge threat to established makes in Europe as their pricing for cars like the MG4 and Dolphin are in the same range as ICE cars.Stellantis, VW Group, Hyundai/Kia and the rest will all have to bring prices down to compete, especially when Tesla come to market with a car of this size.

I can't get on board with a new EV with a paltry 250 miles WLTP. Real world this will deliver 220-230 max. No way does this shape up to the lines of the Niro / Soul EV / Kona / MG4. At least it is 100 kWh rapid charging. 36k is not too bad at least. But... I couldn't go for this over the better Kia/ Hyundai or lower cost MG's.

C'MON Stellantis! You now offer 12 different cars with the same lame drivetrain: Peugeot E2008, e208, E308, Opel corsa E, Mokka E, Astra E, Citroen E-C4, e-c4x, Citroen E-berlingo, Jeep Renegade, DS-3-E, Fiat 600e. It's a great battery/motor for city cars, but not near enough for family cars. the E2008, Astra and E308 needs a bigger option like a 75kWh battery 150kw+ DC charging and 200+HP !

Your usual high standard and thorough review Tish 👍 But Stellantis have a terrible EV strategy which puts so many EVs on a compromised ICE platform. A company with sooo many brands is in the perfect position to make use of a dedicated EV platform across loads of models. Don't like the gear selector, on a old one this is a handle you can easily use blindly, here with the button presses seems a lot worse imho. For the rest seems like a nice facelift, but the battery is a little at the small size, which will cost them over competitors. Also one pedal sriving should be better. With previous generations it makes sense that they did not yet figured it out, but meanwhile they should have learned and copied from the competition. Price is also high, but atm see only first edition which is kind of full option, so will probably improve. Think 30000-35000€ euros is competitive for this specs.

250 miles would be enough for me, but there’s no way a 47kwh usable is going to get 250 miles. To get this the car would have to average over 5miles per kWh and that’s never going to happen it’s unlikely to even get 4 miles per kWh in real world.

I've got a 2020 e2008. Although this car is expensive new it's a bargain secondhand. Because it's not loved by the journos there are loads of them for sale with little miles on them for £20k. That's £10k cheaper than the cars like the Kias and Hyundias. It's got a better boot than the competition too. It's better quality in every way than an MG, I don't care if the range is slightly worse. Disappointed they didn't update the interior and the software, which isn't rubbish but is not intuitive. The battery size should make it cheaper. You're not getting more than 200 miles out of 50kw. Mine doesn't do more than 170. The winter range is worse, around 100 miles. I've got all the toys on mine and they're pretty good, apart from the auto steer, which is unusable. Has this got wireless Android/Apple car play? I have to wire mine in, which is a little inconvenient.

"Conquer" the Kia eNiro? Not sure that might happen. The Peugeot is French, and runs the risk of the usual problems and issues French cars sometimes suffer from. The Kia is South Korean, has a solid reputation for reliability, a 7 year warranty, and Kia's now considerable experience of developing and building well sorted highly efficient EV's. I know where my money would go, particularly having owned cars from both makers...... My Peugeot was an utter bloody ownership *nightmare* Never again.
