Hi Trev, which tent would you recommend for a multi day hike (WHW)?....Lanshan 1 or Vik 1. Cheers buddy.
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.... not tested the Vik 1 enough.... that being said, not really tried the Lanshan in bad weather yet - but I would probably say Lanshan.... a lot of hikers I know use them, and swear by them.

Summit Or Nothing cheers Trev, you are the second person to go with the Lanshan. Keep up the great vids...you are getting better and better with each post.

Thanks for this great video of the tor I am lucky enough to call home (my house, Pew Tor Cottage makes an appearance at 3m 34s) Just for interest: the stretcher carriers at 3m 51s are volunteer members of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Tavistock) doing some ropework training for the evening. the dogs that you heard at dawn were from the local hunt kennels as well as the Vixen Tor legend, Pew Tor also has its own legend of Piskies: www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk/pew_tor.htm And finally it was great to hear "I've left no trace". Thank you :-) !

Hi Mark - thanks for watching! I walked passed your property in the previous video (kind of) walking down to Sampford Spiney - must say this was a terrific little tor. I actually passed the hounds out on the roads in the morning as I was driving home. And now I am going to have to go back there just to tell the tale of the pixies lol.

Great video, really enjoyed it as I’m planning to visit this Tor for an overnighter , as it’s not too much of a hike after driving down from Kent, and Dartmoor Legends well over due.👍

The Merrivale area is great for having close tors near to the car parks, so you should be spoilt for choice. Thanks for watching, safe travels.

i've read online multiple times that the naturehike vik 1 is too short for people 170cm tall or more, is this really true? i'm 174cm and don't wanna touch the walls and get my sleeping bag wet...
@SummitOrNothing2 жыл бұрын
I'm 177cm, and I've got on OK with it.

Trev, you don't half walk a long way ahead and towards your camera to get a walking shot. You must spend so much time tracking back just to get your camera or walk back Into shot. Looks good tho ha
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Haha! Only sometimes - if the framing calls for it - usually I walk for about ten or twenty seconds - then turn back. Its worth the little effort if the pic is right. Cheers for watching!

you cant really compare 2 stoves if you are using different sized cans, with probably different pressures. Also at the end of the boil you should weigh the cans to see how much gas was actually used by each stove.
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did say that I intended to weigh the cans, but valid point about the can size perhaps. I will do additional tests and see.
