anytime any of the girls play, the chat is just filled with 'she's so annoying', 'I hate her voice' blah blah and it's plain fvcking ridiculous misogyny. It's no different to making fun of someone's face or body - no one can change their natural voice. I know people like Rae, for example, can get very loud and excited but I feel like she really ups the vibe of the game and keeps it energetic. She's not afraid to call people out and it makes it entertaining even if you don't agree with her strategies and she can get carried away sometimes. And why would you ever hate on Lily - like her voice is very high pitched but it's just as slow and gentle as Corpse's, yet those people are all over Corpse's voice! If you think about it, women probably yell and got used to yelling because that's the only way people will ever listen to what they say or take them seriously. The only time we can be heard over men is when we are yelling over the top of them in a higher pitched voice! Not as much on Pewd's streams but on others I have even seen lots of girls saying the same thing, maybe moreso than the guys - that just makes me incredibly sad because society has taught us to tear down other women when we should be supporting them. Our voice is probably not that much different so why would we feel the need to say "that's so annoying"? It's nice to have a mix of voices and people and that's what makes among us so fun to watch. No one says anything when Jack or anyone else is yelling. I agree it's annoying when a creator you don't really like is playing and you have to hear their voice ie. I don't really like poki for a range of reasons but that doesn't mean I'm going to trash her in someone else's stream nor does that mean I have a problem at all with her voice itself. If those people actually watched and supported female creators then they would be used to these pitch of voices and wouldn't have to whinge about it for uncalled for reasons. Hating on women in gaming needs to stop right now - I actually can't with how backwards and misogynistic the community is when it should be a place of welcoming/acceptance for anyone who comes to gaming for refuge or for fun. Had an ex that sounded almost identical to Lily. The hardest part of the relationship was having to listen to people around me comment on her voice.. All the fucking time.
