My favorite dancer of all time... Pewi!! It was so amazing to watch her glide across the big house floor!!
I forgot to write down the other dancers name... if anyone could tell me her name I would really appreciate it. thank you!!

The other lady who I am dancing with's name is Andrea Cranmer. We are both from here, Alert Bay. Andrea was my dance teacher in school along side her grandmother Agnes Cranmer. The late Chief Dan Cranmers wife. Andrea and I both descend from Fort Rupert Hunt family. I was very honoured and privileged to dance with her. She is a very wicked dancer :)

wonderful blessing from this video thanks for posting this sacred traditional dance probably wasn't a good idea of posting it but there always a reason why even being a full blooded Native Pueblo I take it in to my heart cause I know I can compare to these type of ceremonies... the fire, the people, and that's wonderful song.. its really a great blessing keep up native world and all ceremonies mother earth will stay stronger... younger generation please listen too your elders, clans men, clans women, and even yourself cause life needs us an we need life to keep going... we will protect all ethnics but like wise to those that have strong traditional doings... my prayers to the person who upload this video and to all that sacrifice themselves to take a big role in this ceremony.... thank you

This is a powerful video and blessed to have watched it, but I agree that we must refrain from posting video broadly to protect our sacred songs and teachings. My nation does everything in it's power to deny video and pictures within our c̓áiǧac̓i, especially when our c̓áiqa perform our sacred songs and dance, such as our λu̓ḷáx̌a and tánís ceremonies.

Wow! I never thought I'd ever see some thing like this. We derive our lives from the sea here in Flamborough Yorkshire. We have a maned life boat station, we put on a Viking Fire festival. This is Amazing.

Wow! What great dancing. This, coming from Gary Ball, who knew Pewi and Andrea from NISS. I just went looking for dance videos to show at school and Boom! there is Pewi. I often think about you both, believe it or not, and always with admiration. How wonderful to see you both dancing together.

Are they summoning something? Or are they showing resect to the stars? Or showing respect to their culture? What was the original meaning of this dance...?
@janineshaughnessy3737
@janineshaughnessy3737 5 жыл бұрын
Eatch hand movement has i different meaning. There is one where the woman are wishing good energy to their tribe. They are not summon anything. It's a ladys dance. Its a dance to respect all lady's in our tribe. Hahah i had to laugh at this though.
