I remember Emirati salonas actually - lahem batata salona in particular. They're not super spicy like Indian food (I'm Indian and I like spicy a lot) but they have a decent amount of flavor. Emiratis adore Indian food, I've noticed.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about Peyman's guest here. Just cos he wasn't over-reacting to everything like oh wooowww thats a spoon! like every other guest Peyman has had before? This guy has a refined calm attitude and notices everything. He noticed the saffron flavour and quickly commented about the Indian influence and I could have hugged him. For that was something I had been wanting to ask; is Arab food influenced by Indian or vice versa? This guy is the best guest yet and he compliments Peyman's graceful hosting with an equal amount of grace.
