HI all! Brothermutant here. This is another in a series of vids showcasing how I might level your various allies. I plan to do vids for most (if not all) of your found teammates, both as a MODDED version as well as the UNMODDED variety so that all can get a feel for what I might do with these deadweights... err, I mean, viable and useful allies against evil. FEAT and Ability picks as well as suggested GEAR are listed in a PINNED comment below.

UNMODDED "Jubilost" Alchemist MELEE Build STATS: Str 8 Dex 14 to 17 Con 12 Int 19 to 20 Wis 8 Cha 12 Chaotic Neutral (matters for some gear) Class Levels: Gnome; 20 Alchemist In Order of the video: LVL 1-Point Blank Shot; (FREE) Bombs (fire dmg) (+1d6 at EACH ODD LEVEL), +1 to Thrown Weapons & Mutagen 2- Poison Resist +2; Discovery- Precise Bombs 3- Precise Shot 4- ALREADY CHOSEN +1 Ability; Discovery- Acid Bombs 5- Poison Resist +4 now; Ability Focus- Bombs (+2 DC to all bombs) EARLIEST I could get JUBILOST (start leveling him at level 6 on up) 6- Discovery- Enhance Potion (this will allow you to use YOUR Alchemist Level for any potion you use on yourself or pour down the throat of a teammate---sounds weird, watch the vid and it will make sense) 7- Weapon Finesse 8- +1 DEX; Poison Resist +6 now; Discovery- Fast Bombs 9- Two-Weapon Fighting (requires DEX of 15) 10- Poison IMMUNITY; Discovery- Preserve Organs (1) 11- Extra Bombs 12- +1 DEX; Discovery- Greater Mutagen 13- Extra Bombs 14- PERSISTANT MUTAGEN (FREE); Discovery- Force Bombs 15- Exotic Weapon Proficiency - Sais (can grab this sooner if you find STEELWIND, a GREATER SPEED Sai in the game) 16- +1 DEX; Discovery- Preserve Organs (2) 17- Improved Two-Weapon Fighting (requires DEX of 17) 18- Discovery- Preserve Organs (thrid and final time) 19- Extra Bombs 20- +1 INT; GRAND DISCOVERY- Fast healing 5 (permanent regen ability); Discovery- Mummification (REQUIRES Preserve Organs at least once) AND Grand Mutagen (requires Greater Mutagen) PIE in the SKY gear to look for: Stuff that increases his PHYSICAL ABILITIES (especially DEX and CON) and MENTAL ATTRIBUTES (especially INT), best LIGHT ARMOR you can find him (ESPCIALLY ones that allow for HIGH DEXTERITY MOD), any extra gear that gives him immunity to anything, extra SNEAK DICE, or spells per day that he would not normally have; any gear that increases his bombs dmg, DCs, or bombs per day. EXAMPLES: Acerbic Rings (one on each hand gives your bombs +1D6 dmg each); River Fox's Pendant (?) + Gloves of Deathdealer + Dark Wind dagger in your OFF hand each give +1D6 Sneak Attack dmg (which ALSO can work for your Bombs); Gear's Rule (bracers specifically for a bomb guy). *NOTE: this character can use POTIONS that will be better, so pass potions ideally to him to use on his teammtes. @@quickpawmaud Looks like they sure did. Also, notice both the Cognatogen AND Awakened Intellect; that's extra INT (probably) so their bombs do more damage as you can add your INT modifier to dmg. Bet they have fun blowing stuff up. Also notice how they take INFUSION, so they can use their "spells" on teammates and bad guys. An extra 4 Extra Bombs means (I think) another 16 bombs per rest which, as far as I am concerned, is like saying another 16 spells per day since you use the bombs as spell-like abilities (curses, choking cloud, blinding attacks, dispelling magic, and of course damage. Nice build.

@@quickpawmaud The potion stuff can be really OP though. Depends on what you are shooting for.

@@brothermutant7370 well I plan to use all of the companions (not sure about Jaethal but everyone else) so if I think about what everyone can do for the team nobody else can do much with potions but afaik potions are just bottled spells. So I would have to know all the important spells, which characters can cast them, etc. This game is so complicated in order to decide the best build for what you want to do. I will probably just look at all the potions I get before recruiting Jubilost and see if I find really useful ones.

The main reason to not take the melee build on Jubilost is because it's so much worse than a player character doing it or a mercenary so you can not be a gnome(-2 size, reduces legendary proportions impact), can pick Vivisectionist(way better if going melee) and opt out of the point blank and precise shot feats which aren't really doing much for you as a melee alchemist, especially if you're using greater invisibility for all those sneak attacks, with that on barring see invisible enemies you can't suffer attacks of opportunity when invisible. Still a viable build, at least for lower difficulties, but to get the most out of him rather than just force yourself to use him the ranged build is vastly superior as it's much less wasteful on subpar predetermined choices.

Just curious as to why you take Two-weapon fighting in the melee build when you'll be using bombs in combat and you can't offhand bombs.

I don’t know if you look at the comments for old videos, but I had a question: If you made a tiefling with the biting heritage, split with Grenadier with the feral mutagen and Barbarian nite build, would the number of attacks stack?

Hi mate, i just wanted to try your jubilost range build. now i have a problem at lvl 6. i cant choose enhance potion. its not in the list of discoveries. do you have a idea why?

@@tonisecke5399 You might not have the DLCs for the game. Not the mods, the DLCs. They add a LOT of new stuff that people don't think about.

@@brothermutant7370 ah ok. yeah i only got the clean pf km, no dlc´s. well then i have to choose another bomb. thinking about these banish bombs. what do you think about them? and it looks like i need to get the dlc´s asap =).

@@tonisecke5399 Bombs I like are the Force Bomb, Acid Bomb, Explosive Bomb (HUGE AOE), Holy Bomb, and even the tangle bomb (if its the one that does DMG AND entangles). But make sure you have the PRECISE bomb (or whatever its called) feat so you don't hurt your team.

@@brothermutant7370 the precise bomb feat jubilost got at the start when i meet him. and the bombs u mentioned i cant get at lvl 6. i think the explosive one i could take at lvl6. so i will test this one. thanks for now. need to sleep. pf km steals my sleep alot =). cheers and i guess i will talk to you soon

Hmmm, I SHOULD have, but am not sure. Grenadiers are my favorite of the Alchemists so far. I like that they get the safe bombs at level 2 for free. Just make sure to grab the Enhance Potion and Extend Potion options ASAP. They really make you the team buff bot/pocket cleric from that point on. Get yourself Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot of course, and once you can unlock "Fast Bombs", you should have Rapid shot already and getting like 3 to 4 bomb attacks a round by the end of the build. There are ways to cheese it and get like 6 to 8 bomb attacks in ONE round, but I find I run out of bombs REAL fast that way.

@@brothermutant7370 I started PF:KM a couple of weeks ago and after getting to Pitax, wanted to start again with new knowledge. One of the biggest things I got from your video was that mutagens are stackable since they're a unique bonus and the importance of picking up Infusion early. Thanks for that. At the moment I'm learning all the classes and may do some spreadsheet work after I find a class that I really enjoy and that works for the balance in the team. I'm looking to build a more fighter/tank main as that seems to complement the party members you pick up most. What is your opinion on the Duelist class in terms of effectiveness and fun?

@@vitomarin101 I wish I could tell you that its a fun class. I find (most) melee non-caster classes to be kinda dull, fighters being the exception to the rule. Fighters EXCEL because of all those sweet FEATS they get.

@@brothermutant7370 i completely agree with you there, there aren't as many options or decisions to make with them beyond a good left click. I already have a magus in Regongar though (thank you for your in-depth take on him!) and am really intrigued at the prospect of using a rapier. The weapon itself is worse than the estoc or even many other weapons on damage rolls but they often have finesse and agile characteristics, which in theory allows the toon to take 2 other feats! this would allow me to also dip into something else. What's your take on having extra feats due to weapons having those characteristics?

@@vitomarin101 You kidding me? I LOVE IT!! So nice to know (of course that is metagaming and cheating to some) that a weapon category (rapiers, Kukris, Longswords) is well represented in the game. It allows you to pick that weapon (especially for people like me who love a good Sword Saint) and really diversify the character in other ways. If you want ideas on what to spend your EXTRA feats on, check out my Eldritch Scion series of vids where I dive into each of the bloodlines (and make a corresponding "replacement" of them using the same Eldritch Scion but using the ARCANE bloodline to really get the most out of spell picks. In that series of vids, you would want to check out the Serpentine bloodline one as it really grabbed what most would call atypical feats. Things like DECEITFUL, PERSUASIVE, DEFT HANDS, and more really boost up those SKILLS allowing your character to do a LOT more in the realm of roleplaying a "know-it-all" character. It is a build I am reworking for an Archaeologist build for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous this weekend, so check it out when I post it?
