This little demo just saved my sanity! I hadn't used my machine in a while and my fabric started gathering for some reason. After trying EVERYTHING, changing needle, thread, footplate, tension etc it wouldn't stop. I noticed the IDT wasn't engaged and looked up what it was really used for. I had forgotten how important this feature was. Thank you!

Thank you. Can you do the demonstration of the lining fabric by starting sewing at corner of the fabric with IDT? That’s when it is most difficult.

I'm new to sewing and I have Passport 2.0. In my recent project, the needle went through ...probably 6 layers of regular weight cotton fabric at the corner. From the sound of the needle piercing, I know that the needle or the machine worked a little harder for that first stab, but then the fabric wouldn't move, so the needle kept on piercing the same place and the thread bunched up in the back. Is that the needle I need to change or will the IDT help? I don't know what size needle the machine currently has. There is a box with a set of 5 or 6 needles in it that came with the machine and there's no empty slot to tell me that that's the needle 'on duty' right now.
