Here is a beautiful sample of an Industrial PFAFF Treadle Table / Legs / Stand that we recently Restored / Refurbished.
In the video is demonstrated it's smooth and quite operation despite the brutal force exerted on the pedal which is not something that one would normally do when treadling.
The treadle wheel has a 42cm diameter.
Those cast iron industrial treadles were usually sold with PFAFF 130 and other PFAFF industrial sewing machines.
It's been quite a long time since those treadles were sold, and since the machines on them continue to sew for so many years after that, at some point owners converted to electric motors and for that they removed the balance wheel and the pitman rod and user the pedal chained to the motor as the foot controller.
Those parts ere usually misplaced (if not thrown away) and did not accompany the treadles in their future days.
That's the reason why so many of them nowadays lack the wheel and can only be used as table legs / stand.
