Beautiful specimens! I’ve never heard of these. I hope they will become more available to the public in the future as they are stunning.

Another winning video! This is the first explanation for corking I've come across anywhere on the internet. I have seen it also occur on some of my Hoya and my Scindapsus 'silver lady'. Currently my P. monacantha is slowly rehabilitating in a dark corner of the garden shed! I had it outside (Hobart, Tasmania) on the deck but it rapidly took a downhill turn despite being large and established when I bought it. I think it was a combination of unusually high rainfall and too much light that took its toll!

Thank you! Sometimes established plants are more difficult, I’ve had a few heartbreaking experiences where they just couldn’t adapt to my climate. Hopefully your P. monacantha makes a full recovery and flourishes. I can’t tell you how surprised I was to see it react so poorly to too much light! 💚🌱

Gorgeous! Will you ever do one big Montage Bloom fest video of all the plants?🤣 Looks like you have a lot budding and blooming at once. So pretty. Thanks again.

Thank you! Someday 🌸🌼🌺! When too many things bloom simultaneously it does get a little difficult to do individual spotlights. 💚🌱

Very detailed video, can I ask your rough location, I’m in Florida and battle intense heat and rain …

Hi Jim, I’m in Duluth, Minnesota very close to Lake Superior. My battles are the cool wet climate for ~5 months and then indoors where the air can get very dry through the winter from the heaters. Battling too much rain is difficult, here when it rains heavily 4 days in a row I get nervous. I heavily amend my mix with Hydroton or Geolite to help with that after losing a few plants that were in a mix that worked for a San Diego, California climate. 💚🌱

As always love your videos. Could you make a video or suggest some ideas about how to get blooms. I have lots of healthy epiphytic cacti but have yet to see a bloom

Light! If they aren’t blooming they no doubt need more light. If you pot them in pots that are too big that will usually delay blooming as they will work to fill up the pots with roots to get established before blooming. I promise there isn’t a secret magical fertilizer or any special trick 😂, it’s just good old fashioned sunlight ☀️🌸🌼! 💚🌱

Try Facebook! Do a ISO (in search of) post in Rhipsalis or epiphytic cacti related groups. Buy, Trade, Sell groups are usually the best option.
