How did hot rodding cars start not talking early purpose built board track cars and Indy cars or flats cars I’m talking Hot rods built at home by guys coming home from WW2 and buying cheap 4 cylinder 30’s cars and swapping in V8’s that were never meant to go in the cars they were in ! Swapping rears , lighting the cars as much as possible small seats no fenders heated and flipped front axels adding pig Buick juice brakes making ( literally building ) parts that they thought would improve there cars performance and if it did keeping it secret as long as they could and if if didn’t trying a different idea of there own ... having machinists weld up and re grind cams or having a folic cam core turned on a lathe at a boat marina on a old wood lathe with home made metal blades and a mic and good eye .. then the same kids that fought a war and made it home took there ideas that worked and started making more for other less talented builders or grinding there cam cores the way the customer wanted ! Pistons and rods in motors that were designed for a completely different ( and separate brand ) in there motors with nothing more then a mik and basics measuring tools ! Stoking blowers from disease on them driving blowers off of the crank .. turbos they knew of from fighter planes methanol injection from the same planes hell even using the plane mtrs ... offset grinding cranks to make stokers .... and on and on and on fuel cars that could come apart at any point early turn knob nitrous mechanical fuel injection from plane and high dollar specialized mtrs or making there own set ups !!!! How is it different then these kids buying cheap 4 cylinder cars and building there own custom parts to do exactly the same thing the original hot Roders did bigger better lighter faster more power then anyone could think that mtr could make all in the name of fun and speed and bragging right !?!?! Tell me how it’s different I’ll wait because it isn’t it is hot rodding period!!!

Just do it. I lost my old man 3 years ago. We always talked about building one, but never got to it before he got sick. After he passed I bought a 66 impala drop top. His first car was a 66 ss283 impala vert. Mine is a base, but I’m building it like we would have done together. Do it while your both healthy, and do not ever sell it. That way if anything ever happens you’ll have that to remember him with.

I would like to add 120 horsepower to my d15a3 but I want to keep it quiet I like to drive on the back roads of 109 of the coast and I started doing that in my 2001 d17 a2 Civic with the MagnaFlow exhaust and they changed the speed limit speed limit was 55 and you couldn't go 55 unless you had a car that could hug the road now they dropped it to 45 but I don't
