Excellent video! I am definitely getting the Go:Keys 5 as my next keyboard, hopefully in the near future. As much as I like my original Go:Keys, when I get this, I will probably give this to my good guitarist friend, Kenji from church, so he can have a keyboard for his music projects and also for his singer wife and two sons to learn/play. I also still have my CT-S1, though I think the CT-S500 is great, and comparable to the original Go:Keys for the price, but with an arranger format, instead of the sample phrase feature. I was thinking about getting on for the sound quality and pitch bend wheel, but the Go:Keys 3 came out at the same price and is definitely an upgrade with the newer features and sound expansion, the Go:Keys 5 even more so with the added features I wanted. I believe that the Go:Keys 3 is a great update to the original, and more affordable to many who don't need the extra features of the Go:Keys 5. The colors certainly appeal to many, I would get the Midnight Blue, but getting the Go:Keys 5, so I will.opt for the Charcoal Grey/Black, and I prefer that over white keyboards. You will be instrumental in helping me familiarize myself more with these keyboards since I plan to get one, and they are basically identical for all the things you will be presenting in your future videos. Have a great, blessed week. I also will probably be getting the Zoom R4 digital audio recorder to add to my audio arsenal. I like the products from other companies like Yamaha and Casio, but Roland has long been my favorite company for most music gear for their innovation and frequency if reading many new products. I have spent a lot over the years on Roland/Boss musical instruments and products.

@@pf_masa Yes, it still is, comparable in price to the original Go:Keys and now Go:Keys 3, but with dual ¼" audio out jacks. Maybe not the expansive sound capability and as advanced features of the Go:Keys 3, but still a solid arranger keyboard to have, with great quality sounds. I think it's like the CT-S1 with more sounds and all the features desired from the CT-S1, albeit at a higher, but reasonable price, but the CT-S1 is still an incredible keyboard for the beginner, moderate musician in a budget, or even professional musician like you to take anywhere to play, or elsewhere at home without having to fire up your professional keyboard rig to just relax and play to good keyboard action and great quality sound.

I have a Casio CT-S1 the action is not bad for traditional acoustic piano playing when the Touch response is set to Heavy. I'm hearing reports that the Go Keys 3 and 5 action response does not enable easy control over all the levels from soft touch to heavy touch that pianists use (dynamics pp-ff). The Acoustic Piano 1 sounds are subjective and more or less acceptable on all these models. Of particular notice to me is the Rhodes ('70s Electric Piano) on the new Go Keys 3 and 5.

I have uploaded some solo piano recordings with CT-S1. However, I currently feel that I can only play actions close to ON/OFF with the GOKEYS3, and I feel that it is difficult to perform the delicate velocity control required for solo piano. However, I believe that once you get used to playing with automatic accompaniment, this problem will be less of a problem. I like the tone of GOKEYS3's Rhodes. In the near future, I'm planning on uploading a video that shows what the GOKEYS3 tones have, and although it's hard to see all the tones (more than 1000 tones!).

*This is supposed to be posted on the PSR-E383/E373 video... My friend Jeremy See just reviewed this, also comparing it with the PSR-E373, albeit your review is more comprehensive, and more progressive jazz playing examples, as he is a piano teacher and a large part of his viewers are novice arranger keyboard users. He even has a whole I line course for that. I like the nicer new design, with the metal speaker grills, and superb construction and design. It seems slightly wider left to right, but not as much depth front to rear l, like you stated. I know this is a Japan spec edition with the same language characters for the controls and I puts, but the red and white fonts are easy to read and look nice. The labels for the input connectivity on the back panel also on the top of the control panel is a great idea. You may it sound great, while done others make it sound often cheesy are the expected arranger keyboard sound. Still a pretty great keyboard and update for general playing, albeit no pitch bend wheel, and only a stereo ¼" headphones output jack. But it's only $200 USD. Very affordable for the target consumer. You explain the rest very well. One big challenge, even for many proficient playing musicians and keyboardists is understanding all the diverse and complex features of each instrument, something you do very well, better than most others at the levels you are to benefit from them. For $150 & $300 more for the Roland Go:Keys 3 & 5, those instruments are so much more advanced in every way, including the more modernized styles and sound tone and style expansion capability in addition to the already immense amount of onboard sounds, the connectivity of the 5 and the advanced user interface like being able to input your own chord progressions, amount of music backgrounds instrument interaction and sonic sound quality and fidelity. Like I mentioned earlier, the Go:Keys 5 is essentially a 61 key semi weighted version of the FP-E50 with most of the same features vat half the cost. Which makes it perfect for me. The only thing that comes close to that for my preferences at $380 is the Casio CT-S00 with great sounds, pitch bend wheel and stereo ¼" audio out jacks and more. That solves my dilemma of choosing between the FP-E50 and RD-08/88 when I am ready to get an 88 key digital keyboard. The only other keyboard I would probably want is the CK61 which is also and amazing, I credible keyboard for of the best quality, quantity and variety of sounds and effects capabilities, as well as microphone input with effects. If I don't need the 88 weighted keys, though there are differences, for 61 semi weighted keys, it is still classified as a full stage piano. They have the CK88, but it is not cist effective, snd twice the price of tye VK61 and the RD-08/RD-88. The best thing is all the great instruments and available choices at different price points. Again, a great video. I always enjoy your playing demonstrations.

Increible sonido, lastima que no se venda aun en colombia.
The best piano sound ever means nothing if it doesn’t respond well to the key action. The Casio CT series piano sound is very good and “Zen Core” is a great marketing name… the Rhodes is nice in the Zen but the piano is not superior, IMO. I am beyond worrying about which is better, it’s all about action and behavior (dynamic response pp-mp-mf-ff etc) for me. And the Casio wins in year key area (tip: set the Touch level to Heavy). Several fine pianists have told me they cannot play solo piano in the Go Keys 3 action but can on the Casio CT-S1 action which I already own and agree is suited for piano. So the Go Keys 3 is off my list.
@pf_masa6 ай бұрын
I believe that the instruments and tones that each person chooses will vary depending on their purpose and the genre/song they are playing. The Casio CT-S1 is not bad for playing acoustic piano sounds on the white keys when the velocity touch sensitivity is set to "Heavy", but its black keys have a different feel/heaviness to them, and it makes it close to impossible to play in keys that have a lot of sharps or flats, because of the black keys, especially if the "Do" is a black key in the particular key we are trying to play. I acknowledge that even real acoustic pianos have sometimes ever so slightly different touch/heavin feel to their black keys (compared to the touch/heavy feel to thei white keys), but those differences are so nuanced that they are practically insignificant while playing in any key (with howevermany black keys are in the musical key). The touch/heavy feel between the white and black keys are significantly different, and that is one of the biggest issue with its action/keybed/tocuh/feel/etc..., and the exact reason why dynamic sounds (Grand Piano, Mellow Piano, etc) is not possible to play with well controlled dynamics (without random loud notes constantly popping out, or sometimes even just playing a long scales crescendo). With considerably less dynamic sounds (some types of EP, or organ sounds, etc...) the CT-S1's keybed/touch etc is fine, but even when you play an organ sound (which is "non-dynamic" (not velocity sensitive) sound) even with organ sounds you will still feel that playing organ stuff on the black keys compared to playing organ stuff on the white keys will feel different, and it is definitely a bother for some people (for me it's a deal breaker, although i bought the CT-S1, but while i was test-playing it in the shop, I didn't feel annoyed by the different weight-feel between its white and black keys, and I though I will be able to get uses to it. But I was very wrong, I notice it even more now, the more I play it, the more I notice the difference between the CT-S1 white keys vs its black keys, and I can't not notice it. Now I am using it only as a MIDI controller, and I am correcting its black keys velocity inside the DAW with MIDI settings, its still not perfext but it became much more usable
@kaisfp6 ай бұрын
Have you tried to play anything with the CT-S1's paino sounds in the key of F# or B# or any "many-black-keys" key? It's too hard if you want goos control over the dynamics (velocity).
@pf_masa6 ай бұрын
@@kaisfp Thank you for sharing your information. By the way, I often play Dbmaj's jazz standard ``Body and Soul,'' which uses a lot of black keys. However, with this spring keyboard, even the slightest touch can suddenly produce a loud sound regardless of the white or black keys, so playing a piano solo requires much more care than on an acoustic grand piano. But it's fun to overcome it♪
