Philipp 28 he was a terrible putter then, too. You can hear them talking about it on the broadcast. Love AS but he’s never been great under pressure.

@@glumbum6 I think he does ok with a green jacket and multi-millions to his name, wouldn't take any win on this level for granted

Philipp 28 haha, anyone in the top twenty of the OWGR has multi millions to his name. Dude blew a four stroke lead in the British Open with four holes left in the tournament. He/we expected more of his career.

@@glumbum6 he beat Cabrera in play-off at Augusta to became first Australian ever to win the Masters. In my book, that's playing well at top level. His career is fine

@@glumbum6 after that open championship he won the 2013 Masters in a playoff. Before that he won the 2004 players after hitting it in the water. Won back to back in 2016 fending off the top players in the world. Won the 2020 Genesis making key birdies down the stretch to hold off Kuchar. 2008 he won in Texas in a playoff over Ryan Moore. He held off Vijay Singh in the 2006 Tour Championship to win by one. He's got 14 pga tour wins and at least 10 of them are either in a playoff or by 1 or 2. To say he's always been bad under pressure is not accurate.

Good ole days when Scott used a real putter. When he putted well, he was unbeatable, but it didn't happen often enough.

@@vbeard5887 What do you mean? My comment suggests that I'm not okay with mediocrity. I wished that he putted better more often. Scott did putt very well SOMETIMES back then. Also when he went back to the short putter in 2016 he won two consecutive events and putted amazingly but then his putting declined again.

@@lrn_news9171 by saying using a style of putting that solely depended on him putting well to contend amd be in and out of the top 10 in the world versus a style of putting that served him much better which led to more wins (including a major) and reaching number one in the world suggests that yes you would rather have him be mediocre in comparison to what he accomplished. For the record they are all real putters.

@@vbeard5887 I don't think Scott putted better with a long putter. His stats were terrible in 2018 with the long putter. It's mostly mental. He won numerous events with the short stick as well, including the Players and WGC bridgestone. In 2016 his putting was ranked very good, he was using the short putter. In early 2019 he returned to the short putter and got a T2 finish early on, was leading the masters after the 2nd round. His putting stats were in the top 20 on tour

@@lrn_news9171 he won the WGC Bridgestone in 2011 with a long putter first of all. From 2008-2010 he ranked 163, 183 and 177 in total putting, and never finished in the top ten at a major championship. From 2011-2014 Scott ranked 137, 161, 62 and 54 in total putting (his worst year being being better than his best one with a traditional), and not only did he pick up nine top tens in majors including winning one. He switched back to the broom Handle halfway through 2019 and was right in the thick of it halfway through the PGA. He ditched an armlock putter in 2020 and won at Riviera.

He went back to a short putter in 2016 and won two events in a row, it included a world golf championship and then he went back to a long putter in 2018 but went back to a short putter for a short stint in 2019, he was tied for the lead at the Masters after round 2 but then collapsed. He made two T10s prior to masters with a short putter.
