If he gestured forward with two hands, that would indicate play advantage. As I have said elsewhere, if Coote confesses to an error in signaling, and he intended to wave play advantage but got his hands wrong, that would be a noteworthy error in terms of his officiating skills, but easily forgivable as a fan. But that is conjecture. What the plain facts in front of us say is Coote made one of the worst calls we have seen in years, only it did not turn out to be important to the result because Nunez scored.

Well they seem to be able to manage it in other leagues across Europe! The PGMOL needs oversight and transparency as they currently audit themselves, never a good situation. Refs need to be fully retrained and the VAR tech used in European leagues, such as semi automated off sides, needs to be brought in asap. Only then will we have a decent chance at competent refereeing ( oh yeah, and get rid of the back handers for refereeing in the Saudi League)

What he said IS a problem, it shows a clear bias against a specific team, it call's into question every decision he's ever made. If this video is genuine then he cannot be allowed to ref another EPL game at the very least and a personal apology to Klopp, Scousers, Germans and LFC. You're right everyone is entitled to an opinion but if those opinions do or are even perceived to influence you in your job where you ABSOLUTELY have to be unbiased then you cannot do that job. Also he has lost all trust from the supporters that will go beyond just LFC. If I were LFC and, as I said before about the video be proven to be genuine, then I'd be looking at legal options too, losing his job might be the least of his problems. It was foolish in the extreme to have said all this on camera.

I just saw this a minute ago, I was so gassed. As a Liverpool fan it was so unfair to see Salah getting treated like a pancake, whereas like u said on the watchalong, if that happened in the fifa the game would’ve immediately stopped and hed have gotten a red but Coote was clearly not feeling it. Last season was pinnacle of ridiculous decisions by referees. Liverpool should have a VERY strong chance of winning the league if the refs didn't made blunders over and over again. That Liverpool team was very strong, so I don't know why people are so surprised the current Liverpool team, which is improved version of it, is doing so well. What's clear is that no matter what, he can never referee a Liverpool game or any game directly affecting Liverpool again, which takes him out of the Prem and Europe. Furthermore, people are not placing enough emphasis on the fact that he called him a German c*nt. Whatever about your opinion regarding an individual, there is absolutely no cause to ever bring their nationality into your appraisal of their character. I can envision other German players and managers in the league having similar issue to Liverpool and saying he shouldn't be refereeing them if he has an obvious bias against their nationality. It's outrageous. The other thing is that whilst of course it is impossible to omit bias from a human entirely, the PGMOL and all other refereeing associations should strive for impartiality - and perceived impartiality. They cannot do their job if they are not perceived to be impartial even if prone to error.

Can’t see how there’s any option for him to continue refereeing in the prem. I've been raging about PGMOL for years as a Liverpool fan - I've wanted to sack everyone. Liverpool in particular have been on the end of some scandalously bad refereeing in recent times. Referees s**t talking with their friends doesn't bother me at all though, all anyone should want is the game to be refereed fairly and to not have them taking money from certain oil club cheats while doing side gigs.
