I love how melee and ultimate mirrored each other here. A new #1 seed who's been fighting for it all year, but they got upset super early to the terrifying ice climbers mains who took names this event. The eventual winner has been in a bit of a slump recently despite past dominance over the scene. This tournament solidifying their stance as #1 at least for now. They beat their main rival, who people had reason to belive they would lose to. Zain beating Ibdw who won their last 3 sets and Mkleo beating acola, a great top level Steve, a character who infamously 3-0 3 stocked him. Some differences to contrast them were that Leo stomped whilst zain clutched, and the fortune of lcq players. Kurama getting 3rd and joshman having a broken arm and losing heartbreakers, Shroomed pulling the classic of losing after qualifying, and Trif who walked from the airport to go out in the last round of the lcq

Too many people forget how bad he did on his first tournament with joker in Japan. This is what happens when the undisputed goat of ultimate decides to experiment with characters he has fun with. Both times in the last 6-8 months when Leo said he was try Harding he stomped the bracket. This is very scary. 28:20 is a very inaccurate reflection of how the set went. Game 2 wasn't particularly close, but Game 3 was a super last stock last hit that came down to literal pixels. If Kurama won that game it would've been 2-1 Kurama favour and who knows what could've happened after that. Game 4, while not as close, was still very tight, with Kurama being down about 80% before losing, but considering how Kurama has been Kazuya Mishima'ing everyone with Mario that tournament, that game basically felt last hit as well.

Melee and ultimate were kinda similar in terms of the storyline of deciding who’s the #1 player. Also I think Leo acola tier can be a thing rn. And I think Onin is #2 in the U.S instead of Kola For melee the Zain iBDW Hbox tier is interesting. Mang0 Amsa Leffen Jmook and plup when they play their best are in that tier as well.
