Dr Swamy... Always great and teacher for many many curious people like me. Innovation -- One major thing can be done in the electoral process. Let representation of people act is amended to make minimum 90% voting to conclude and if not, voting will be kept open till such time -- This is possible and not wishful thinking. By doing so all the touts who are getting elected now will get wiped out and true leaders will get elected . It is always the fact that purchased vote % through illegal means of inducement like money, Sari, coupons etc.. can be at the most 20%. If compulsory voting min 90 % is made a law then there will not any incentive to purchase vote and eventually corruption will come down as the major portion of the corrupt money is first generated for contesting an election. This one legislation can change the entire polity in INDIA. Please note that the vote which is not cast 100 % belongs to our beloved PM MODI and congress culture of electoral malpractice will end. There are too many ways people do malpractice in the voting process. Second -- There should be PRIMER system for election -- Preliminary round anybody can contest and top two will go for the final round. The preliminary round also to be participated by voters. This is needed to curb the menace of vote splitting techniques like too many independent candidates and encouraging NONE OF THE ABOVE ( NOTA) voting. In the recently concluded Karnataka election, there are at least 10 places the difference between the winner and second highest is lesser than NOTA votes Technology to be used to full extent,, this will bring the cost down. These are all possible BUT political will and willingness to do right things should exist which I doubt..

I like Subramanian Swamy, especially in his fight against the Congress, and political correctness and so much more. But stay away from Science, the stuff I hear about "just building 4 desalination plants" will solve this or hydrogen fuel cells will sort out our vehicles. No, as a scientist myself, it's more complicated than that. Desalination plants are the single-most expensive means by which you can produce water, you are better off just importing water in that case, rather than desalinating it, because typical desalination plants requires electrolysis, shocking the salt/impurities out of the water. In regard to hydrogen, they're naturally unstable, it's highly compressed and thus dangerous. A great tool for potential terrorists. On top of which, there is improved battery energy coming soon that will sort everything out. So I'm optimistic for Elon Musk's solution over Subramanian Swamy's.

Because of the Soviet Union, we have all these large industries. They help India to discover oil and gas fields. They helped India to win the war against Pakistan in 1971. India was in problem in 1992, because the Soviet Union disappeared in 1991. India used to get whatever we need from the Soviet Union with 50 years interest free credit payable by exports from India. In 1992, we had no foreign exchange because that facility had disappeared. Swamy is talking rubbish. The IMF gave a loan of $2.5 billion at the cost of the privatization of public sector assets, and as a result, we can see mountains of NPAs, massive amount of assets transfer to Switzerland, Mauritius, and London. We have no jobs, no money so that the Government has to rent out public assets, which the government call monetization. This is the result of capitalism, NS Rao- MM Singh introduced in 1992. Swamy can only describe but his policy prescriptions are just stupid, because he never talk about that. More capitalism cannot solve the problem.

Swamy has not invented the techniques of Index Numbers. In fact he could invent anything, that was reason he could not get a tenured job in Harvard and got to come back to India. He tried to prove that the Mahalanobis theory of optimum planning was copied from Feldman and failed. He had tried to prove that Mahalanobfor constructionis technique of measuring inequality was copied from Lorenge, but again he failed. In fact, his contribution in Economics and Statistics is Zero. He has got a revengeful mind. Now he has tried to discredit Amartya Sen by telling lies that Sen used to get Rs 30 lakhs per month as his salary from new Nalanda University ( the fact is that Sen took no salary) and Sen wasted Rs 3000 crores for the construction of the buildings in Nalanda ( the fact is that Sen got only Rs 30 crores, no more and the gifts of the Government of Singapore was stolen by the Government of India). Swamy knows nothing about Economics. Rajib Gandhi also got about 10 percent growth rate by borrowing, that is what is going on since 2004, borrowing and borrowing and India is having a very high growth rate. Kuznets never invented GDP either. Samuelson has not invented anything which is useful in real life. That is true about most other American Professors in Economics.
