I realize I'm late to the party but I had to comment. I HAVEN'T LAUGHED THIS HARD IN MONTHS!!! Mind you, the review was excellent an I'm looking into this bag. But, with that said, I started chuckling when you started talking about the "2 minute review" and I'd already seen that the video was 17+ minutes long. Then when your timer went off at 2 minutes and you were going strong, I couldn't hold back. I belly laughed the rest of the video - watching the timer continue WAAAAAAAYY past 2 minutes and you still doling out the info. I loved it. The timer was brilliant. Thanks so much for the review and for the laughs!

I first heard about PGYTech a few weeks ago when I was searching for a cheaper alternative to PD strap clips and bought the Beetle. Satisfies my laziness _and_ my miserliness. Two thumbs up. 👍👍

Good luck with new playlist. Their products also remind me of PD. Magnets? Will they be lost? Tip: store empty batteries upside down; charged ones, rightside up. Would have been good to see you put a bottle in that holder. And perhaps fully load it.

I have the old 6 l. With my OM d m1 mark II, and 12-40 mm f2.8, 40-150 f 2.8, teleconverter and 25 mm f1.7, extra battery and two filters without problems. Which, as you point out, covers from 24-420mm f2.8. Not bad.

Nice review. This bag is on my shortlist due to the understated looks. Unfortunately the Billinghams are a bit to flashy or expensive looking where I live. I'd recommend dropping the 2 minute time constraint you want to impose on your reviews and let them run a bit longer just like this one. Viewers know and respect your insight into different products and appreciate the thoroughness you put into these videos.

Is it at same level with PD and Wandrd? Is it good for hiking a mountain?

I have the PD 6L bag ( and the 3l one) I like the design and the way I can clip my camera to the outside of the bag with the extra clip. This bag seems to be a bit roomier than the PD one despite both being 6l.

Yeah, the PDs are a bit tight. But extremely robust. I use the 3l version as a waist bag on all my hikes.

I figure the secret pocket with the water bottle holder could've instead held a rain cover, which would've suited my needs better.

Great content as always. Thank you. Would you consider doing a video to show what you are going to take with you to Japan? I thinknit could be a great video to watch. Me and my wife are going to Japan the very first time and I am thinking of what to take with me. I am an Olympus shooter.

Jimmy it’s hard to keep a secret anymore if there is a photo involved. I took a screenshot of a your mystery bag on my iPad, cropped it to show just the bag and used google “lens” to search for it. Yup, I found it immediately. My lips are sealed. Looking forward to your review.🙂

I would have loved it if the 4 liter version would have the possibility to use it as a waist bag/hip bag. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work with the PGYTECH. I use my PD everyday sling 3 liter for all my hikes - it's perfect, rock solid, but just a little small (although it fits my em-1 mk2 + 12-40, plus the 40-150 f4, plus the 9-18 or laowa 7.5mm, plus extra batteries and lens pens/microfiber cloth). Plus, I can clip the camera on the outside. For hikes, it's mandatory for me to have it on my waist so that I can still have my regular backpack. PGYTECH, please add this functionality to version 3 :) Or PD, release a 4l version :D For a pure sling bag, there are way too many alternatives to stand out. The only serious competition for the PD 3l (as a wait bag), afaik, is the COSYSPEED CAMSLINGER (but nice colors are currently out of stock).

Jimmy, do you have any recommendations for an L-bracket for the G9ii? I tried the 3 legged thing Lexie and not only did it cover the mic ports, but also had some flex with longer lenses, like I could see the movement/gap between the plate and camera, no matter how much I wrenched it down... maybe due to the rubber pad?
@Red35Photography
@Red35Photography 11 ай бұрын
Are you using a big heavy lens? It's not recommended and better use the tripod collar and rotate 90 degree. any bracket or tripod mount isn't supposed to take that much load, you may risk bending or cracking it. I dont' see any flex in mine but there are other options with room for the mic port, let me test a couple and let you know.

@@Red35Photography thank you. Sadly the pany 50-200 doesn’t have a tripod collar/leg, but even then I was able to see the movement with the Oly 25/1.2 while adjusting the camera.

I ordered a backpack from them and have been getting the runaround on shipping. I do like the stuff I’ve ordered from them, definitely a more economical alternative to PD, but damn.

I use the Wandrd 6ltr. Really small, light and weatherproof. Takes a camera and lens (Olympus M1) and I can just squeeze 2 other lenses in. (25mm f1.2, 17mm f1.2 and a 12-40 on the camera. Worth a look. That bag looks too big for me.

I've definitely been looking into Pgytech bags. Currently my backpack is the KF Alpha Air 25L and the KF Concept Alpha Air sling 9L. P.s. Did you see Viltrox released a new and affordable 20mm AF lens? I'm debating it.

LOL :P... a "2-minute" tech review that lasts 17-minutes and change ... great review as always, Jimmy. But, probably need to rethink the time component. I appreciate the PGYTech bag, but I'm really looking forward to the Wotancraft review.

That opening is massive or expansive. I kept looking at the bags profile and its longer at the top than the bottom. I thought that looked weird until you said the opening is massive. Define massive.....but the point is, it's wider than the bottom so is easy to put you hand in because the side at the top of the bag is out of the way

@@Red35Photography Nah you explained it great. I'm not even sure what is said is right. But I was just looking at and trying to work out what was unusual looking, at least to me, and then you said how easy it was to get things in and out of and I thought Bingo! Good design! I don't normally like sling bags but I might have a look at this one. Keep up great work.

Interesting you mentioned this. I don't have PD sling but I did look it up. Then I also found some other slings that are very similar... can't really say who copy who or who came up with some of the ideas. Well, there are some differences and they all hold gear well by the looks of things. But I do like the battery notification system.

@@Red35Photography Well, imho PD is older ;) The whole design language is definitely "copied" from PD, but this is not a bad thing. Look at all the "copies" (and partly even improved) versions of the infamous PD Travel Tripod... As long as they are not violating any copyright, more competition is a good thing.
