This is yet another basic and simple recipe for beginners. Can be made from vary few ingredients. For those who don’t like plain varan this is a good option. Its a good side dish.
Ingredients -
• Cooked dal
• Oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 8 - 10 finely chopped Garlic cloves
• 8 - 10 Curry leaves
• 1 medium finely chopped Onion
• 2 - 3 finely chopped Green chillies
• 1 small finely chopped Tomato
• Turmeric powder
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method -
• Heat a pan on medium heat.
• Add oil. Add mustard seeds. Let it pop up.
• Add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
• Add garlic. Fry the garlic for 1 - 2 minutes.
• Add curry leaves, onion and green chillies. Cook it for 4 - 5
minutes.
• Add tomato. Cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
• Add turmeric powder. Mix well.
• Add cooked dal. Add water if required.
• Add salt to taste.
• Mix well and bring it to boil.
• Add coriander leaves.
• This dal goes well with rice and chapatti too.
