Although this is one of Tobias' oldest flourishes, it's also one of his most popular and requested. Phaced is a variation of Joey Burton's Skater Cut. In this tutorial you will hear how this move was created and get an in-depth walkthrough of the mechanics.

2 f*cking years. I finally pulled this bullsh*t move off. Such a beautiful, but painful flourish. I hope many of you guys have succeeded in this as it really is a worthwhile move. If i were to have any tips, try repositioning the packet corner on your right ring finger in many ways (if you are right-handed). You tend to be more successful if you position the corner on the right ring finger closer to the index side. There is a good chance that this can solve some of the issues.

hi, Tobias. I'm Korean. and I've practiced this amazing flourish for a few months(really hard). I show this to my friends. and they want to learn 'Phaced' but they say it's to hard,I don't know what is he talking about. so, I'm starter of this flourish and each time I get the tips my self and I want to share them in Korean in video. for my friends. may I? please~~

When I reach over to finish the flip, my middle finger always slips off of the spinning pack because of the torque and I have to pinch the packet between my middle and ring finger for it not to fall. Any solutions? May I also say that for any flourish, the torque makes the cards flip out: for Tornado, Windchill, this. Anything that requires spinning, the torque fks me over. Again, it's not the cards splitting necessarily, it's just the packet stability and I have worked on this a while. Any tips?
@Andrei-rp3dz
@Andrei-rp3dz 7 жыл бұрын
The corner of the packet inevitably slides down my finger when torqued because of the pressure from the other side. If I release the pressure the cards go everywhere though so it's not like I can just apply less.
@birdsong3786
@birdsong3786 7 жыл бұрын
try to readjust the position of the cards every time you turn the card with just the finger contacting the edges of the card, readjusting the packet to its normal position with just one finger. thats how i do it.

I'm sorry to say that but I think the tutorial isn't very good. The floyrish itself is amazing, but the tutorial isn't that great. What I don't like about this type of tutorials is that I get stuck on every movement, because I'm not sure what should I do next. Maybe it's just because this tutorial is so short and everything happens so fast. I prefer the way in wich someone talks about every finger and it's movement. The best example in my opinion is "Nova by Nick Stumphauzer". Anyways, I wish good luck to dealersgrip.com and I will try to watch every video you upload!

the tutorial is not that good but the flourish is amazing. it looks better from the spectators pov for sure. i got the moves down in about 3 days with rubber bands around those 5 packets. trust me thats the best way to train. just position them the right way so they dont bother your fingers. and you have to take note of the finger positioning. anyways i love tobias and this flourish. Amazing.

I think rubber bands around packets is the WORST way to train. Just a pack of cards and practice. You have to be able to feel every little detail without a piece of rubber in the way. It's the only way to make fine detailed adjustments to the handling. If you're showing a flourish to someone and a few cards fall do you think... "Oh dang it, I wish I had my rubber bands so I wouldn't have dropped so much cards". Or something lame like that?
