Same here. I recently deactivated all my social media accounts. It doesn't feel good to be on social media because of the ridiculous materialism. The whole "look at me I'm better than you" narrative. I don't want to live in the illusion of social media. I'm here scrolling thinking so so is better than me because she has an LV bag or drives this and that kanti it's all fake when actually I am the rich one because of my health, family, beautiful friends and support systems and genuine love in my life etc. I don't want to be apart of anything anymore that makes me forget about how beautiful life is and how wonderful it is to actually be present. This obsession with our phones needs to be addressed. We have to be more conscious of the type of content we're feeding ourselves and we have to set boundaries on the time we spend on social media. We scroll so unconsciously for hours only to find we're actually using social media as escapism from reality. It's insane. Even the need to post for validation. We're living in the matrix. We have to wake up.

After reading the bare series books, I found myself grateful for the life decisions I made. I nearly became the victim, I was heading in that direction. Although some of the things happened to me, I'm glad I'm alive. Quick money will kill us Jackie. This young generation of ours, we want instant things and we are willing to do anything to get money to trend, to wear that Gucci and Lv. It takes a brave and mature decision to walk away from all that, and build yourself without all the influence. Although it's hard but it's worth it.

When I was in University first year. I once got stuck in a mansion in pretoria. 2 influencers showed up at my flat, told me they were having a birthday at a popular night club, posters and all. Asked me to drive one of the sports cars, I thought it was really cool to have this convey of sports cars with just ladies, going from jhb to pta. Arrived at the club, they told us to leave our bags in the car as there were going to be photographers taking photos of us pulling up in the cars and on to the red carpet.We took photos and it rained champagne all night, 2am, we want our bags coz all our phones were in there, told us they had already taken them to the house we were going to, most of us just wanted to go home, and didn't care for this house and just wanted our stuff so we could just catch a ride with someone going back to JHB because this was not apart of the plan. The plan was we were going to club, and back home, besides we didn't know these girls, just knew them from social media or this mansion where our bags were taken to. They had us, our phones were at this house, so they said we could go get them and come back, we get to this crazy mansion, with no furniture. Just 2 or 3 rooms had bedroom furniture, we ask for our bags coz we mad now, as this was not apart of the plan. There's 14 of us. Then, while we waiting, an hour goes by, and they just totally ignoring us at this point, we look around and the 2 influencers were gone. The Nigerians scream at us to shut up and they'll take us home in the morning. 14 of us, one room, nothing inside. Then morning comes, I realised what this was, we were never going home. I told this one girl, hey, we being trafficked, don't tell anyone else or we won't be able to escape. We went and sat outside the rest of the morning, 6am, the gate opens, a truck drives inside, we ran out so fast, and stopped a random car in the middle of the road and told him to drive! I've never seen those girls left inside the house, ever again. One was my neighbour, she went missing till today.

I told a friend of mine, when we had a discussion about blesser and all. I told him that, I know life is really hard but I rather struggle for my goals rather than buy a way to get it. I only bumped into your video post of the recent insta live where you talked about how people go to sangomas for all manner of powers. I was watching another channel as I do my research and yours got recommended due to the similarity of the topics. I can only say thank you for being as bold as you are to say what you're saying and revealing so much truth. I am Kenyan living in Kenya and I have only been to SA once, very many years ago for a medical training. Nevertheless, I understand so well a lot of what you're saying from the fact that I happen to have been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and I saw how some colleagues in my poorly paying circles were able to afford very lavish lifestyles... some were open and said they slept around for the money and items they had. Others were openly having affairs with married or unmarried, older people either within or without the industry to sustain their lifestyle. Unfortunately, the same is happening in the humanitarian world (I also happen to be a humanitarian) where there are all kinds of "sexually transmitted" jobs, allocations and promotions etc. Sadly, I am sure you're attacked by those who feel you're coming against their livelihoods or exposing what they actually do, but if we are honest, this stuff is EVERYWHERE... only in slightly different forms. But the bottom line is greed and as you say... it is a lie. People are chasing lies that they see on social media and other forms of media and compromising their lives in more ways than one... spiritually, physically, mentally etc. Many have in the process lost their minds and/or lives.

My 14 years old niece showed us flames. She started misbehaving at the age of 10. Even went as far as smoking glue and attending porn video screenings at the home of friends that were in their late teens. I went with her to visit the police station and a social worker to report how I would rather beat and kill her with my own hands than to keep negotiating with her. They threatened to arrest me and I told them to do so instantly and adopt her in the process, because if ever I got out of prison and found out that she'd amounted to nothing, I'd go to jail for their deaths too. They backed off and let me deal with her as her parent. She stopped all the nonsense and has been consistent in behaving and getting good grades at school, because I refused to be a "It's the things of this world" type of parent. In essence, watch those little babies. You don't want to find yourself raising babies who are raising babies.
