I'm really looking forward to this campaign. I DM'ed extensively in AD&D 2e, 3e, and 3.5e, skipped fourth edition and came back to 5th edition in 2018. I knocked the rust off my DM'ing skills, after a nearly 15 year hiatus, with Lost Mines and my group and I really liked it. Also, this looks like a really solid group. I only recently started watching Dork Tales but have watched all your Dragonlance vids (just DM'ed session 0 and 1 last Saturday) vids to date and watched your Spelljammer playthrough and loved it!

what a lovely cast. this is going to be great Is this the original phandelver module at first and then it keeps going like the duracell bunny or is the first part changed a lot aswell? OG phandelver was 1-5? how far does the below module go? 10? 15?

From what Kelly has told us, it is a slightly modified first chapter or two and then goes totally different. And I believe it's levels 1-12

We usually use roll20 for combat (although sometimes little battles come up that are theatre of the mind). Spoiler, but it gets used a BUNCH in episode 1!!

Starting with a +3 in your main stat is... bad? Unless you're rolling for stats (which is totally possible, but nobody mentioned it), that sounds like the best your can get? Unless I've missed out on newer character creation rules, which is totally possible.

We use 4d6 drop lowest, so yep! Old school holdovers from our days playing Pathfinder and 3.0.

This rolling method has both benefitted me and caused me to play characters with multiple negative starting ability score modifiers so I figure it evens itself out karmically in the end

I'm so excited about this campaign, guys. FR is my favorite setting in DnD. I've been following you for a while and I'm glad you're going to play this adventure. I watched you guys play the entire Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign and half of Wild beyond the witchlight (I have yet to finish it). You are all great players and I like you as a DM Kelly! I'm also looking forward to know Chris and Amy, they seem like very nice and fun people judging by this session. I have one question, is there anyway for us outsiders/followers to maybe see your dice rolls? That's the one thing I miss about watching you guys play, and in the two campaigns I've followed you in, sometimes the players have been very lucky with their dice, even you Kelly, have sometimes asked them to show their dice and maybe it would help the immersion if we could see you roll all those nat20s. Please don't take this badly, I didn't mean to offend anyone, just a question :) So good luck with your adventure, I will definitely be following it!

Sadly we are all dice golbins who insist on rolling physical dice and none of us aside from maybe Kelly has the tech to run a separate camera just for dice. Although it may be fun to pitch a "Box of Doom" a la Dimension 20 but as digital dice....
