Keep in mind that everyone approaches reviews from different perspectives. If all you're doing is comparing the specs, the V60 comes up short. For me, price is a very important factor to consider. When taking that into account, LG delivered an amazing phone.

The software isn't that bad when you compare it to what it has going on inside. It also has Note pen features that actually work with a capacitive pen similar to the Galaxy note... Did you know that? Reviewers are just finding it in the settings on the V60 and it works amazingly. So you can keep your Samsung with its high refresh rate, classy curved screen and the 12 MP zoom camera that actually doesn't work and switches back to the 64 mp camera to do the job...no different than what LG did with the V60 Facts. A professional photographer busted that myth, so that zoom lens is pretty much worthless. So yes... I'll take the V60 all day over the overly rated overly hyped Samsung S anything.

The loss of a telephoto lens isn't going to be an issue for most. Most phones favor crop zooming anyways for 2x zoom as opposed to the small telephoto sensor. Also I'm loving the display on this phone. My last 3 phones had QHD displays, and you cannot tell a difference unless you squint and bring your eyes uncomfortably close to the screen, which even then the pixels look ridiculously tiny.
@RennieAsh4 жыл бұрын
Someone did a comparison, and the 64mp does 90% + of the old telephoto in zooming during great light. Anything less and the 64mp actually gets better than the old 2x Plus, Samsung doesn't have a "telephoto lens" in the s20 and s20+ either So idk why people complain so much, all Samsung does is have an extra 12mp sensor that we don't know the exact purpose

The zoom lens actually switches back to the main camera lens after the second zoom in and does it with the main 64 mp lens sensor on the S20. Solid review. The launcher doesn't bother me as I've used Nova Launcher in all my phones for years. I got two phones in t-mobile for BOGO. It was a no-brainer for that price. So far biggest annoyance is the under screen fingerprint scanner. It's not really that it's slow, it's just awkward to use. I think it's the same in all big phones though. Don't forget about the Wacom AES pen digitizer that makes this not only a cheaper competitor to the Fold and S20 but also the Note 10+
@phandroid4 жыл бұрын
Too bad the software support for it isn't anywhere close to what Samsung offers on the Note series.
@williamrichardson1414 жыл бұрын
@@phandroid Can't argue with that but then again I think they nailed the essentials for most people. Put the pen inside on the next one and we'd have a good enough Note for most people.

Thanks for your honest reviews. Is it possible to flip the phone when inserting it into the case such that the rear cameras face you? I was thinking of using the better rear cameras and the dual screen as a viewfinder since the selfie cam isn't that great.

T-Mo currently has a BOGO free deal that works even with existing lines. The deal is by bill credit, of course, but if you need 2 phones they are only $400 to $450 each +tax after credit.

Just a heads up. The v60 also has the ability to be used with a smart pen on both screens. Ie- the wacom bamboo smart pen.

Unfortunately you will have to wait almost two and a half months to get the second screen from LG. That's the part that many people leave out and it is ridiculous that the dual screen does not come with the phone
@t.daniels97554 жыл бұрын
Not true. You can get the dual screen with the phone: www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone/lg-v60-thinq-5g-dual-screen?sku=610214663672

TL:DR If you want a flagship with a headphone jack this is your only option and it is a great option. You also get the best speakers in the game, QDAC. I currently have the G8 I found for $300 in like new condition. The v60 has 5000 mah battery and my g8 is 3300 or something like that. My g8 takes me through the day most of the time, this v60 with a better chip and all would be hard to drain in a day.

How's LG's Software support. How many yrs do they support their devices? I think this is gonna be the only hurdle for me getting this beast!

They typically offer two years of major updates but they do come a bit slow.

The USA's trend of only selling phones through service providers is so strange to me (but no surprise with the insane corporate powers in USA) but that's the reason for all the bloatware. Here in Europe LG phones are the opposite, basically completely free from bloatware. My V10 at least was.

Hopefully they sell an unlocked one in a month or so 😬

Got mine a few days ago and im already having issues with software. Apps crash often such as instagram and my youtube at times doesn't load. I thought maybe cause I use LG mobile switch and may have moved over a bad update or some sort. So I factory reset phone and a day later it still does the same at times. Decent phone but I have a S20 ultra also so my main Sim card will go back in a few days.

I've used a fair share of phones mainly Sony Ericsson,and then Sony since 2004 for around 9 devices, Motorola since 2013 with 3 devices and Samsung since 2015 with 3 devices..not until 2017 i decided to go for LG with the v10..unfortunately it got stolen 4 weeks after i bought it so i bought the v20 and it stays with me until now..one of the best phone i've used

May i know if the lg v60 support the dual messenger feature, like in samsung?
@phandroid4 жыл бұрын
It doesn't look like the feature is built in, but you can use apps like Clone App from the Play Store which allows you to create app duplicates on your phone and even has extra privacy features built in. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloneapp.parallelspace.dualspace

@@phandroid Actually it does support dual apps but I think its limited to Facebook Snapchat Messenger and a few others it popped up for me the other day using my V60 haven't tried it myself though

i wander what the max movie resolution is on it. can you watch 4K and does it do samsungs "high performance mode"..can you change the resolution for movie watching? i do Netflix VR often so its kind of a breaking point if the PPI is less than 500, since my 9+ has 520. im afraid to go with anything less and be disappointed ya know

I got the v60 last week and the camera will destroy any other smartphone camera. Take the first day or two before you start to really use the camera. If you learn to use manual mode on this v60, your efforts will be greatly rewarded!

I appreciate these reviews continually bashing these great LG phones. I love there direction n have despised tiny curved screen formats (ie samsung) that are overpriced . I can never justify buying another brand when u get so much for your money waiting a few months to buy an LG .

I have the LG V60 and its a good phone but I miss my V30 as my daily driver there are so many things that I use to do instinctively on the V30 that I have to relearn on the V60. Other than the dual case what case are you using on the V60 if you don't have the dual screen?
