Great review! The premise really does sound like adult Caraval, I’m not sure it’ll be different enough for me to pick this one up, taking into account the points you mentioned about the lack of character development.

Great review, I feel like you were spot on. They were pretty juvenile; it was kind of like Caraval with smut haha. I really liked the book, but I only started reading this genre in March of this year, so I don't have a ton to compare to and my standards are pretty low 😆. I'd be interested in reading it again in the future to see if I still enjoy it as much as I did the first time. I guess the next one just follows Genevieve's story which I think sounds interesting, but don't we already know how it ends? 🤔
