It was originally going to be Mega CD, but changed last minute to Mega Drive. It was going to feature fully animated cutscenes and voice acting with cd audio soundtracks, but that didn't happen. But I really like the 16 bit version we got. It's great. It's also pretty much the only time a Phantasy Star game came out since the first one that was actually finished. Phantasy Star 2 had to cut the backgrounds and 3d dungeons and Phantasy Star 3 was done by a different team who had no idea about the series while the main guys worked on Phantasy Star 4.

@@zylowolf7919 Yeah and they scrapped also the 3d Dungeons, I pretty much prefer the version we ended getting.

I remember working on a comic, heavily inspired by Phantasy Star... But also Battle Angel Alita, and Bastard (used to read those a lot as a kid).. Redoing the comic, and if I ever have a game of it made... First game has to play like Castlevania Symphony of the Night.. Looking like Guilty Gear Strive... Second game, still looking like Guilty Gear, but playing like Guardian Heroes. ^_^

Did Toby Fox get inspiration from this for one of the music in Undertale? Because it sounds slightly similar. I think the music there is called Another Medium.
