I've always really loved this track, and always kind of felt like Pray For Idola The Distorted (the first Dark Falz battle theme) from Phantasy Star Online was influenced by it. It's not one for one the same in any section, and the tempo and arrangement are quite different, but there are tons of little sections of melody that remind me of it, they share very similar chaotic, slightly discordant melodies, and given how much remixed old school Phantasy Star music made its way into the tunes of Online in one form or another, it wouldn't surprise me if the composers looked to this track when crafting a new theme for their new take on Dark Force / Falz.

That song was "Defeat At A Blow." This track is only played when you battle Dark Force throughout the game.

Now that I heard this theme, I feel bad for the Dark Force of Phantasy Star III. If the saga's lore is right, the Dark Force fought in that game would be the last one in existence as his origin, Profound Darkness, was dead at that time (III happens 1000 years after IV). And he even gave the threat to return in 1000 years without knowing that. That's what happens when you're trapped inside a chest all that time.

Well I can assume that Dark Falz in Generations of Doom is a remnant as it was sealed in a pandora box and forgotten by history (like the one in the ruins in Ragol).

Weird that Toby Fox decided to put this song in the new Pokemon. Check out the Team Star Grunt battle theme, it uses the same hook.

I love how, compared to Zio and Lashiec’s theme, this is pretty much penis music. Making Dark Force seem kind of pathetic and annoying makes it more effective as a constantly respawning, recurring threat in the story. It makes me hate his dumb stupid face and I unironically love it.

that also checks out with the fact that Zio and Lashiec are greater threats than Dark Force. Lashiec coming back from the dead to beat Chaz's ass in PhS4 after Aylx killed him in PhS1 is quite the power move on Lashiec's part. And Zio just deciding that Profound Darkness wasn't going to fuck shit up is a power move too.
