Let's be real, this isn't a technically difficult song in any way. The guitar is mostly single notes, a few slow arpeggios, and a couple chords, the drumming is a simple inverted double, and the synth is mostly there for bass. That's not to say it's a bad song, I love it, but it doesn't "everyone else's music seem academic." Rather, it celebrates simplicity and cleanliness.

+agreen182 it's possible. I googled inverted doubles and one of the first videos was a guy breaking it down and he played the groove very cleanly. I've been practicing it and I can't play it smooth as fast as the recording so I just take it a bit slower

I got my drum teacher to do a lesson on it today and here's what we figured out: - It's all 16ths - It goes FT (s) (s) HH HH (s) (s) FT S (s) (s) HH HH (s) (s) FT - The sticking is: R l l R R l l R R l l R R l l R - You can substitute the FT for the BD if you want And we couldn't quite get it up to tempo but we came pretty close. Hope that helps!
