Glad it worked. I had my remote taken apart at one point before I found this fix. It's really strange that Phantom support don't advise how to do this (in my experiences with them at least, anyways).

Thank you very much! After upgrading remote controller to version 1.9.3 of my DJI phantom 3 advanced with DJI app in iPhone 6S and iOS 11.0.2, I got the same problem as you are describing. Remote controller was totally off and with no power lights. I tried to unplug and plug it again the battery, but no succed. After pressing C1, shutter and power buttons, remote controller powered on successfully. I had to update the firmware again, but I think that my poblem was caused because the remote controller battery was next to 0%. Solved my issue, thanks!

Just had the same thing happen with my new phantom adv. Followed other advice on getting it to work but no luck and was ready to send it back. Followed your video and eventually the firmware updated to my relief.

Thanks very much! Had a dead remote as described on your video. This process managed to get it started again after repeating this operation at least 10 times. The first 9 or so attempts nothing happened. Pretty weird. Thankfully now it is downloading the upgrade again so looking forward to having a functional aircraft once more.

Thanks for this, mine was slightly different I had all the lights after the update but wouldn't connect to the app to the rc. After this reset it connected straight away I just had to do a signal reconnection with the model. Thanks was pulling my hair out👍

Thank You for simple but working solution. I contacted Dji support about this problem but they just said that I should send it to repair. Asked about reset but they said that there were no such option. But this soft reset really worked.

@@papolini109 - Hello. I made this video a long time ago, so the process isn't fresh in my head unfortunately. The only thing that I'd recommend doing is to this the process I have mentioned a number of times because it took a few attempts for it to work for me. It didn't work first time. Bare with it. You'll get there!

I just updated my DJI App, and it told me to update the firmware on my remote, did that then I had to resynch the remote back to the phantom, after that it said I needed a drone update, I did that, everything was okay to fly I took off, flew around for 5 min, then I was like okay it all checks out. Took it over a river to film a bridge all of a sudden i get 5 warnings pop up on my phone. Digital signal interruption phone CPU issue Motor weight issue Motor obstruction. Then the kicker Landing.... as i have total control, I raced it back to land, was about 2 feet off the ground and the thing flipped over and shut off? I should just never update the firmware ever it worked just fine before this stupid update.
